I read it, but it still shows unread.

There's not really anything to teach, if you're logged in when you read the thread(if you're not logged in, then it has no way to know it was you who read it) and it still shows unread when you revisit it, then something on your side must be preventing the site from working properly.

If you're using something to block scripts on website like noscript or if you have javascript disabled, you'll have to enable them for things to work properly.

I've put Akiba-Online on the enabled list of all kinds of add-ons such as Ad-Block, No-Script or something.
And would you watch the captured pic attached below?
It's still scarlet colored with the same-color dot at the head of its title, which shows me go to first unread message when I put my mouse pointer arrow on it.

Just excepting it, every thread else has turned into light blue color after I read it.

Hmm, looks like it's a bug with the forum(thanks for the screenshot), I've got the same problem here.

There's not much that can be done in this case, I'll let someone know and maybe they'll be able to fix it somehow or maybe not.

this sure is some interesting bug.
you can force it to get read, if you click on "Mark Forums Read" on top of the page
Then it will ask you what to mark as read - choose the JI-Forum and okay. Then the DB flags will be forced to be set.

i'll take a look into this, but i don't see a particiular behaviour here
