For those using Gear VR, I highly recommend SkyBox VR player as an alternative player.
It has two very useful adjustment settings, the zoom and the tilt, that the official player lack.
It can also stream 2D or 3D videos from your PC to the phone wirelessly, so you don't have to transfer files to your phone all the time.
Check it out.

N.B.:

As before, these are all transcodes made by me from HEVC/H.265 to AVC/H.264. My device still has problems playing back the original files in a player of my choice and ffmpeg can't generate preview files from these either (a simple copy of the stream to a new file works though). Let me know if anyone of you has problems with playback of my uploads.
The 4th isn't mine, it has been uploaded by tmas3 before.
Some of these were cut, see runtime, because I think it's a great waste of time to spend 30 to 50(!) seconds waiting for the video to start with the device on you head.
