SLR is pushing to get JAV VR content shown DRM-free and you're attacking them? Studios in Japan nor DMM, Afesta, etc are not non-profit ventures you know.
The problem with shooting close is also because the picture quality is not as good. JAV studios mainly are using the same cameras western studios use, but in spite of being able to shoot in 6K, they stop at 4K due to DMM's draconian file size restrictions.
Many titles even from the biggest studios are plagued with stereo/alignment issues as well. SLR fixes this all to the best of their ability before publishing the movies.
The other problem is making money in Japan with VR is almost a ticking time bomb of sorts due to phone support dwindling. 50%+ of users in Japan are still watching via phones whereas in the west you can switch that with dedicated devices.
SLR is a business venture, yes, but they actually really do care about making great VR. I was with the owner and his #2 in Tokyo a few months ago and that guy loves VR. I mean really, really loves VR.
