My biggest issue with shota is they tend to pixelate or blur the male faces to hide the fact they're not kids at all. I find that distracting, I prefer to watch scenes where you can see the expressions on ALL the faces, not just the female ones.

The shota genre often includes shotas dressed in short pants and faces blurred (I guess so they look younger?). The DVDES series features younger characters going after older females, usually the mother of one of their friends. I think my favorite is DVDES-730 where the creepy friend sets up his friend and blackmails his mom (and why is his mom pregnant anyway?). I think the actor shown in the three titles below is the youngest right now (or youngest looking). So much potential for good scenes but so often they do something dumb to ruin it:
- male actor is obviously an older dude
- blurred face
- silly/goofy wardrobe, settings, acting
