I believe it's censorship issue. Kingdom has been pushing the envelope for a long time, and every once in a while they get smacked in the hand and have to decrease/limit the exposure for a while. Then they start back again. Who knows how long this will last. Some releases have been removed from production as well. Mari's KIDM-334 & 347 for example.

and yet KIDM-438 was fairly explicit. In many ways, I like the creative tension that results from the current restrictions. Sure, there may be a few Kingdom releases that turn out to be duds, but it's always exciting to see new releases because you never know what they'll come up with. Added to that, the recent trend toward resurrecting gravure idols like Shiori Kawana and Asuza Togashi and pushing them further than they've ever gone before. I'm convinced that, if all the censorship were removed, Japanese videos would devolve into the same boring un-erotic porn that everyone else is doing.

I'm not entirely convinced of your last sentence... The erotic/teasing (not explicit) idol films, with censure or without, won't disapear and not necessary need to change in a hypothetical new uncensored rules because always will have followers, and they just want this kind of videos.
And the uncensored japanese porn (caribbeancom, 1pondo, gachinco, ...), in my opinion, is the best porn in the world actually. I don't consider it worse than the censored AV.

To each his own, of course. I've just found that in most places where explicit nudity and sex are allowed to be photographed, there is very little idol genre being produced. Japan seems to be the lone holdout and I really do believe that without restrictions more girls would be pushed directly into AV. Do you think girls like Noriko Kijima would have devoted as much time to nearly nude gravure when there is probably more money to be made in adult films?

Hey, Ryuuga! Great to hear from you. Yeah, I pulled Noriko's name out of my hat before I saw that other thread. ESP? LOL Magazine spread... does that mean a video might also be in the works? Been waiting a long time for that to happen. My original point still stands. While she may be posing nude, it won't be explicit...at least not in the Western sense, which is a genre I don't enjoy. But if Noriko would like to do a few more Kingdom videos and wear those see through panties or stand over the camera naked in the dim light... My vocabulary is inadequate to capture the breadth of my excitement
