April 25, 2017: Yuu Oronami 麻倉憂 is un-retiring from AV, started filming

Yuu is coming back from her second retirement. First she made a public promotional appearance at Shanghai Adult Expo [unofficial translation] in March, then she opened a Twitter account, and reveal that she's already begun filming.

For many fan Yuu is still one of the all-time best idol in the petite tits genre, despite her age and having had a round in the uncensored vids, she still can command a fan following.

April 2, 2017: how real is Suzu Takachiho's 高千穂すず revival?

One of the most exciting news from March was the comeback of Suzu Takachiho. This leggy hottie debuted at the end of 2015, and promptly disappeared after only 3 vids with S1. But wait... her comeback vid's code was SNIS-621, which clearly was scheduled for early 2016. Is the comeback for real?

Now a second vid has been released, the DVD code is SNIS-905, fine the numbering is contemporary. But it's difficult to shake off the fans's suspicion. For one (big) thing, Suzu still has no in-person promotional activity nor any signs of life on her Twitter account. On the list of May releases, her absence broke the industry standard one vid-per-month pacing. So it's reasonable to doubt that both SNIS-621 and -905 were actually filmed back in 2016 and only now unfrozen from the archive for release. Unconfirmed rumors say that the reason she had to quit and vids released halted was that her joining the AV industry was discovered by her family. Whatever the reason was for her to disappear in 2016, seems not to have changed much. So while her vids are selling great on DMM, don't hold your breath for more vids from this heavenly beauty.

April 25, 2017: As Yura Sakura さくらゆら announced in March, she will be retiring. And her retirement vid KAWD-806 is released today.

This not a typical retirement vid, Yura puts on a maid outfit, but rather than the typical sub maid genre, this is all about femdom.

Her cited reason to retire is health problem. But a number of factors, including the odd choice to make a fetish vid as retirement vid, makes one wonder if there's a whole different truth for the retirement.

It's not really a retirement movie since it's probably filmed a while back before her sudden retirement announcement. It's probably meant to be a regular monthly maid theme release. There are speculations she retire because of family issues. Some even believe she might be coerce in to the av industry, but we probably will never find out. Most popular retiree and former muscat members still spoke highly of the av industry as they transition in to mainstream market.

I hope the rumors is not true. I hope her come back is for real. But I have the feeling is that these might be her old stuff. I have a suspicious feeling now that SNIS-621 and SNIS-905 might be her old work that was probably delayed from being release because it wasn't good enough. The SNIS-621 and SNIS-905 is so sadly underwhelming. Maybe they finally release it knowing that she might not be coming back. SNIS-905 is her weakest piece to date. I just hope I'm wrong that it is her new piece and she is slowly coming back.

Apr 17, 2017: Sayuki Kanno 菅野さゆき announces her retirement on Twitter.

This was not a surprise, her vid releases and promo events have both been reduced since second half of 2016. Sayuki began her AV career in 2010, immediately attracting a fandom with her “rocket tits”. She was for a while Moodyz contract girl. Since 2013 she was making vids for many studio as freelancer, making a great reputation as a “planning” actress.
[This is a brief translation, the original report was slightly longer]

another hot big boobs women leave the industry :(

Apr 17, 2017: Saori Hara 原纱央莉 vids taken off DMM and SOD marketplaces.

In recent days, DMM and SOD marketplaces quietly and suddently removed all Saoir Hara vids from their catalogs. What's going on???

Saori debuted in 2008 and retired in 2011 as SOD's top property. She also made some headway as a mainstream idol. 6 years after retirement, why are the big e-tailers taken her AV off the market now?

Industry insiders believe this has something to do with a number of current and former AV idols (perhaps as many as 40) are preparing to accuse various industry parties to have coerce or force them to perform in adult videos. And the reason that her vids are being taken off the shelves is that Saori Hara is one of the accusors. And there's even rumor that one or two more top idols (as famous as Saoir Hara) are still gathering evidence and at some point an Earth-shattering case is forthcoming.

If the rumor proved true, expect a bad, very bad time for JAV.

[This is a brief translation, I may or may not update this post depending on time]

now is the perfect time to erase their porn past :D

any news about NYAA torrent get shutdown?
No.

As I understand the writer(s) is/are working with Taiwan company(s) that release legal JAV in Taiwan (and probably Hong Kong also) and/or book idols for public events in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. Also writing these kinds of news/gossip articles (extreme similar to Variety the Hollywood trade magazine) are encouraged by the industry both Taiwan and Japan sides. Their most important (but probably not the largest) readership are those who spend money on legally released (often with Chinese sub) JAV and/or import from Japan.

The most fringe thing (legally) is reporting on the uncensored industry. Uncensored vids are illegal in Taiwan (actually all of the relevant markets) as well as Japan. So it doesn't make obvious sense, economically speaking, to report (i.e. promote) uncensored vids. But since many AV idols go to uncensored while still being many fans' fav, not reporting movement in uncensored seems hiding in the sand.

OTOH, they do have economic reasons to, and they do, pretend piracy does not exist.

April 28, 2017: Tia ティア is angry, AV career on the line?

Tia might be a gentle sister with the fans at promotional events, but online she's feisty. Earlier she has a public spat with Saki Kouzai.

What's she angry about now? Tia has been operating her own YouTube channel and uploaded some films of Ebisu Muscats 恵比寿☆マスカッツ, which isn't kosher with the powers-that-be. So she got mad and had a big argument with Ebisu Muscats, and has been make noise about leaving.

In an earlier promo vid, in which Ebisu Muscats announce a national tour, Tia was the lone idol not receiving the event uniform, awkward!

And even her own agency is taking Ebisu's side, asking Tia to delete her emotional words from Twitter, otherwise, they might terminate her AV career. Tia reluctantly delete the offending wordings and deleted the Ebisu clips from her Youtube channel. But she's not swallowing the whole thing down. Soon she's making noise about making a film of her behind-the-scene story.

Wow, it's getting out of control...

Japan is a collective society, meaning every individuals work for the collective, to put a nice spin on it. But anyone going about things her own ways is sure to be gang-bullied. The tour promo vid with Tia not in uniform is a pretty nasty public humiliation, no wonder she's muttering about quitting. But for her own agency going so far as to threaten her career, she must be feeling like being gang-r***ing.

So it's inevitable this exotic looking idol will leave Ebisu Muscats, but anything more? Let's hope both sides are just letting out steam, for AV fans, Ebisu Muscats is just a side show, but Tia quitting or forced out of AV? That would be tragic!

April 7, 2017: Koreans crossing the sea to perform AV?

Sometime ago, there was some AV studios coming to Taiwan to recruit girls to perform JAV. But not many girls actually showed up for audition. So until now, 観月 ひなの [active from 2003-2005] was the only one absolute definite foreign import JAV idol. Kind of amazing eh?

One day, I was chatting with an agent who mentioned Korean nationals working in the AV industry. Specifically not born-in-Japan or naturalized Japanese nationals with Korean blood heritage, but true imports holding RoK passports.

To prove his point, the agent even showed me scans of their passports. Only then I know for sure there are Korean performers in the industry. While various stdio release various AVs claiming the stars as Korean-Japanese mix (haafu) or even all Korean, but these performers who actually come from Korea would never make these types of vids. The reason is that none of them want to risk being exposed back home.

So by comparison, 観月 ひなの is one unique case, she just pull out her Republic of China driver license for all the doubters (and her fans) to see, yep, she's legit Taiwanese [wikipedia page claims her father was Japanese]. What about the Koreans making money in AV? The agent said most of them are on temporary study or work visa. Since it's common enough for Koreans to speak Japanese fluently, even to the point that typical listener can't figure out if the speaker were native Japanese or not. So a Korean girl with youth and looks can make some quick cash in AV, pretending to be native Japanese could help them keep it secret since the shear number of Japanese performers is huge. Since most of them are staying in Japan for a limited time only, they can blend into the hundreds of performers churning through the industry. Make some quick cash, but not a big name, quietly disappear. When they get back to the home country, there is almost no chance that little secret job would be exposed and come to haunt their life [most importantly, affecting their marriage prospects].

As to which idols are actually Korean imports? Well if I were the kind of reporter who can't keep secrets, the agent wouldn't have show me those RoK passports, right? Just be thankful that there's an extra pool of talents from across Sea of Japan, but it helps no one if even one girl's life is ruined by an unethical reporter, eh?

from all the gossips you have posted here, so far this one has the biggest possibility it might be true, from thousands females working in JAV industry I'm sure at least few dozens are not japanese

A RoK passport by itself doesn't mean they necessarily were born and raised in Korea. Japan has a large population of Zainichi Koreans ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koreans_in_Japan#Registration_of_residents ) that although may be born and raised in Japan, for various reasons still hold Korean citizenship (and thus a Korean passport). So probably less a chance of them being 'imports' from across the Sea, but probably 100% ethnically Korean.

Now if you PM me who these ROK holders are...I can keep a secret :) and it will satisfy my years of guessing
I wasn't clear before , but in this thread, all my post that start with a date and title is translated from a Chinese (TW) source, and if the writer use a first person voice (I, me) I translate it directly. It's just too troublesome to clarify each time when "I" means the TW writer and when "I" means me, ding73ding. Sometimes "me" wants to add something extra, explain some terms usually then I put that in square brackets [like this].

So, no. "Me" have not seen any RoK passports, "Me" have not seen a girl strips down to her panty for audition / interview.

In posts without a date, "I" am "me".

Rather opposite, actually it's one of the weakest ones, lacking any specific names or info that could be verified or refuted.

Reading that site for couple months now, I'd say it's never had a big miss. His record has been pretty good. (just for convenience, I pretend it's all one guy) A lot of his facts were backed up by reputable news source, and he also helpfully mention if the source is of the less solid tabloid types. Then there's industry insider gossip, he's clear about those. And he does give some of his judgement which are more bullshit which are more believeable.

He also offer some of his own speculation but he's always clear those are speculations. And I have found that his speculations are never complete baseless wild guesses. He has many years of industry experience and often base his speculation on confirmed facts.

One thing is a lot of his source are the official channels of all the main studios (PR) and all famous idols (Twitter etc). He follows all of them and suss out interesting stories from them. That's something that I haven't seen in any English site.

A RoK passport by itself doesn't mean they ...
I agree.

But far more importantly if Korean girls can turn invisible in the main pool of native Japanese performers, that become almost totally meaningless to me as a fan. The whole point of having some exotic imports is to make the products a bit different. The obvious one is looks: face and figures. One thing is Koreans (I believe) are taller. Other factors like language skills (either somewhat awkward Japanese or unusually good English or foreign languages), demeanor and personality. Take Maria Ozawa, if she originally decided, for whatever reason like hiding her true identity, if she originally decided to blend into the native Japanese, she could have done it. Yes there's some exotic feature on her face, and her figure was kinda a bit too good, but she looked oriental enough, her spoken Japanese was OK enough to pass as native. Then we would have a far less interesting idol. She wouldn't be using her English skill in both AV and public events, she wouldn't be pushing envelopes in her work. Her real life foreign background affected her work in interesting, unpredictable and amazing ways. If she were hiding her foreign background, she would be forgettable (albeit a very hot figure). Another example was Vivian Lam (ヴィヴィアンラム) unfortunately she made only a single AV EBOD-401. She was interesting not because she IS Chinese, but because she looks Chinese, very very Chinese.

Also fashion, make-up, demeanor between Koreans and Japanese are subtly different. So if we have Koreans playing JAV, I'd like her to play UP not DOWN her differences.

But even when the vid or idol is advertised as foreign, it's actually not common to see them play up the difference, with Maria Ozawa being the big happy exception. Mostly JAV takes a foreign or haafu (real or fake) and treat her as if she's native Japanese, only difference is adding big colorful words on the DVD cover to advertise her foreign background.
