I always appreciate it when people are willing to share their collection. Unfortunately it is incredibly difficult to share JAV on the internet especially when it comes to streaming. First of all most sites limit the how long a video can be, and since most JAV are about 1.5-2 hours long, that forces you to have to split your videos. Second, because its copyright material you always risk the chance of having the video or your channel taken down, making it unreliable for archival purposes.

With that said I guess you can try your luck on pornhub or xvideos. I find those two to be the fastest when it comes to streaming but I have seen many videos get taken down. If you give the video some arbitrary name and avoid movies codes and actress names you might be able to avoid getting your videos taken down. You can then link the movie back to your personal website, a thread on this forum, or even a google docs spreadsheet similar to this (Nogizaka46 fans :)) where it will have a movie code. This is just a suggestion I've thought of in the past when considering how I would share and off load my massive 11TB collection. Anyway, if you decide to give this technique a shot let me know I'd love to see how it turns out.

Do you think your suggestions help or hurts the loli studios you claim to love?
Are you implying this might actually work? :fufufu:

But to answer you question seriously, it's really hard to say. Studios and copyright holders love to claim that they are losing millions of dollars because they are losing out on potential sales. But that's assuming every movie that has ever been pirated equates to a movie that would have been purchased instead. Do you honestly think I or anyone else has thousands of dollars to blow on 11TB of JAV? If people can't watch it for free chances are they won't watch it at all. If the content is not freely available, people will go to something else that is. And we all know the internet is chock-full of free porn. If anything, sharing provides them with more exposure. How do you think 99% of the people on this forum discovered JAV in the first place? Do you think anyone would've become a fan, or even know of the name Moodyz, Dogma, S1, etc had they not pirated or streamed one of their movies? Especially in the western world, it's not like you can advertise it on TV. People most likely stumbled across JAV by googling some freaky Asian fetish and landed on a streaming video.

Companies waste so much money fighting piracy, which if you haven't noticed by now is a losing battle, perhaps they should embrace and invest in it instead. Now I'm no expert, but consider this: many people like me and others on this forum have massive collections of JAV. How about redirecting some of that money spent fighting piracy and instead invest in developing some kind of iTunes-like software that can easily organize and catalogue large collections? Then use analytics to determine trends, behaviors, and what people really enjoy watching and somehow use that to turn a profit. It's basically what Google does. Sorry, I'm just rambling now...

Back to the original question: Does my suggestion [of helping share JAV] hurt the studios? Yes and No.
Yes: They are losing money in potential sales.
vs
No: They get more exposure resulting in potential customers.
I suppose it all depends on which has a bigger impact.

From what I understand you actually work for one of these studios or at the very least are closely involved in the industry, I'd say you are far more informed in answering this question. Perhaps you could tell me.

Loli>There's a difference between sharing a movie with a friend and putting it and 11TB of its friends up on file lockers and high-traffic forums like this one where tens of thousands of people can get them.

I work in the industry in Japan and we're suffering heavily right now because of that mindset. Granted, once upon a time you were right and it was very hard for foreign audiences to legally buy adult videos, but now is not the case anymore. Your argument regarding sharing had merit maybe some time ago, but it's moot now. Many production companies still have a lot to learn about good internet-based marketing of their titles, but they are catching up and the last thing they need is 'help' via file lockers.

Also, the link pikuseru posted does not take into account adult media which, unlike music and movies, is more of a guilty impulse acquisition so it's best not to compare it.

So the JAV industry survives based on people's guilty impulse aquisitions, which explains why buying and watching JAV legally involves DRMed files and proprietary software. Because I can't think of a better way to overcome loyal customers' guilt and appealing to their impulses than by treating them like criminals and forcing them to install software on their computer dedicated entirely to watching JAV and making it impossible to watch their JAV any other way.

Which other site gives you JAV with a large library like R18 and isn't DRM or having to have Japan address? I would love to check out.

If you only limit yourself to large digital-download libraries like R18, then DUGA has DRM-free movies (along with DRM movies too).

I linked to an English usage guide for them in another thread.

http://www.jade-net-home.com/ also has a big library of digital titles. I'm not sure if they have DRM or not.
If you don't mind ordering physical copies, http://www.akibacom.jp/english/index.php also has a huge library and they ship internationally.
