i once had a dvd (soft-on-demand sdde-031 starring midou reika) that had two sound tracks. the first obviously used reika. the second was dubbed by someone else who I guess was named rina, as the title was machine-translated as “rina was dubbing the voice is beautiful girl character in the penis to insult inwai semen and the idle school uniform”. if they can dub a whole film, they can certainly dub in occasional screams, slurps, and gagging noises. i imagine it would be more efficient and even cost effective to use a sound bank rather than to have some japanese fay wray in the editing room there each time. i realize that not every company would bother. but then some companies don’t use music or narration. (hey, there’s lots of ways to cut expenses. why give the actress decent clothes? she’s just going to take them off anyway… why use 3-point lighting for the room? a 40-watt bulb will do.)
the trick is to determine who is a screamer-slurper-gagger worth recording. to be honest, i haven’t identified any canned screams or any other repeated noises that would suggest the use of a sound bank at present. but it’s a good idea and one that’s already employed by hollywood. everyone seems to know about their laugh and applause tracks. but hollywood banks all kinds of sounds including gags, slurps, and (you guessed it) screams. maybe some of you are familiar with ‘the wilhelm scream’. it has been used in action scenes for over fifty years. if unfamiliar, check out the following compilation. and remember: if your favorite JAV beauty is a second-rate noisemaker, she can be improved.
by the way, that same sdde-031 was the only JAV dvd i’ve ever seen that used the “angle feature”. in certain scenes, when i pressed the “angle button” on the remote, a different angle of the action would be shown. it was rather haphazared, sometimes with shots of off-camera people and equipment… almost as if the footage was left in by accident. but it was kind of cool to see it. the video itself is worth seeking out. it’s a bukkake type. from what I remember, reika spends most of her time staring into the camera lense with a blank look on her face while receiving loads and chanting mantra-like cliché sex phrases that are associated with JAV. in the finale, she gets fucked from the rear and for five or ten minutes straight screams “omanko omanko omanko omanko” over and over again. you could put that one in the bank.
