Totally agree. Like you, I also no longer understand not using immersive angles. This is VR, the word itself says so. It's about feeling like you're really inside the scene with the girl. But more and more, JAV VR is copying the mediocrity of American VRs, where you just watch, it's like watching a 3D movie on a screen. But that's not VR.
I don't even buy a movie anymore that doesn't have face-to-face missionary, and in the last year I've downloaded, bought and watched half as many movies in VR as I used to.
And more and more scenes are now full of clothing, is another nail in the coffin.
I used to be quite interested in SOD VR movies, they were the most immersive. Now in two 2 weeks they've released about 10 movies, and I'm not even going to watch them, let alone buy them.. They are full of clothes, they are short, only two scenes, recorded with the camera far away, no face-to-face missionary. Garbage.
For me the quality has plummeted since 2022. Now KMP, SOD VR and others are releasing three times as many VR movies as before, but they are very low quality, non-immersive, directed by mediocre directors who have no idea what VR is, and shot in a hurry with a couple of scenes, to fill the quota.

I can understand some Japanese. Enough to catch the gist of some conversations, and I usually know what they are saying when it comes to the etchii stuff. But having some subs to fill in the gaps is always welcome.

If I had discovered the joys of debrid earlier, I might have bought bigger hard drives from the start.
Now I'm thinking of actually replacing some fairly new nas drives with even bigger ones haha...
I started with 3 TB hard drives... The last one I have bought has 16 TB... xD And I only watch VR...

I mentioned elsewhere on this forum that I actually quite enjoy the gravure vids of these JAV girls. I can have one playing in the background on my 2nd monitor while I do something else. Its distracting so I can't do any serious work, but its otherwise quite fun to have while gaming, surfing, or casual work. It has resulted in quite a few unnecessary deaths or losses in whatever game I play lol.
So I do grab the REBDB and OAE vids of any girl I like.

Nothing would stop sin2pi from making a new VR subs thread either, easier to find them all in one place in my opinion but I'm not the one whos going to download them(probably not at least, still can't bring myself to buy a headset) and people may prefer having to only check one thread so what do I know, it's all up to you guys who actually use them.
As far as I am concerned, as sin2pi wants. It is true that it would probably be more practical to create a thread so that they are all together, and not scattered around here. But if he wants to put them here (or both sides), no problem for me.

Since a lot of VR releases are not being uploaded, and the few that are uploaded don't interest me or are not in 8K, I'm rewatching titles.
I have rewatched URVRSP-270 and WOW, we need more Mai Arisu, @Itsabiggapepperoni ... She is stunning in this movie...
She talks a lot in the sex scenes, I need to translate this movie to know what she says... A tragedy she has filmed so few VRs...

Fortunately there is a large catalog you can look back to, i think around 2020 is when they started to release quality scenes consistently. Since a lot of models don't stick around very long, there is a lot of gems you can find if you look well.

Hikaru Miyanishi is popping off with 4 VR scenes in January, and more coming. I really dig her looks and her gentle, quiet personality. So far i only saw URVRSP-301 - a ryokan scene. I'm really tempted to get her other scenes now

I don't think I'll be able to learn Japanese with the little free time I have, it's a very difficult language and very different from mine.
I'm really looking forward to watching a VR of her again. Unfortunately, as you say, in January 4 VRs with her came out, but 3 have not been uploaded anywhere, and the only one that has been released is the one I'm not interested in....

The only VR movie there was of her is IPVR-183, which is a few years old now. I really liked her, as you say, because of the shyness and because she seemed to feel it a lot in the sex scenes, she wasn't acting like other actresses.
The only thing I didn't like is that she just had her teeth whitened and it was very noticeable, they were like chalk....
I hope she has them more natural now.

This is a total surprise for me. I've only watched VRs in the last 4 years, so I'm disconnected from the 2D JAV world. I thought Airi Sato had retired, because his last VR is from about.... 5 years ago! But it turns out that a new VR with her is coming out on February 11??!! Now she's called Ai Abe.

Not just with mature actresses though lol. It's very difficult to find a slender, natural and non tattooed actress in western porn.
Oculus Quest isn't too expensive. Got one one year ago exactly (lol). Tried some accessories like the Bobo head strap but with glasses, the screen is blurry because I can't get the perfect angle. So, I just bought lens protectors and just use the Quest with my glasses, like I did with the Go before.
They're all gonna have downsides, the perfect headset isn't going to happen. If it does happen, the cost will be astronomical. So you'll just end up waiting forever and will never know what it feels like to have Kawakita Saika sitting on your lap... well, kinda feel like... you don't actually feel anything but it sure looks like she is right there in front of you to the point where you will want to reach out and grope her... goddamit...
But ask anyone with a headset and they'll you that you will feel... something... when the girl closes in and 'kisses' you... well, not you, the camera... but somehow you will feel something... think its ASMR related, which is why kissing happens very often in VR JAV unlike normal JAV where its just silly for them to kiss the camera.

Back to topic. The VR industry is stagnating right now, with the Metaverse having flopped and thus Meta laying off quite a bit of staff including from their VR labs division. Pico, which is owned by Bytedance (TikTok) would be their main competitor but they also underwent a layoff that ended up cancelling the development of their Beat Saber clone that supposedly will also involve the usage of your legs.
This means there will be fewer headsets released. There was supposed to be a Quest 'Lite' this year, but that might be cancelled. Pico supposedly cancelled most of their releases this year in order to make a premium model that can compete with Apple's shiny new overpriced toy. Hah... good luck with that.
I'm not sure if there's anything to be particularly excited about this year when it comes to upcoming headset models. So I would say if you can afford to buy one and you really want to watch VR JAV, than now is as good a time as any - but only if you can afford it. Global economic outlook kinda crap right now.
There needs to be some sort of VR revolution to drive up the sales of headsets in order to see a significant mprovement in the market. As of right now, anyone who buys a VR headset is doing so just for porn. Anyone who tells you otherwise has his pants on fire or something. Porn usually drives tech development but the VR segment is too niche for now.
Apple is trying get the ball rolling, but they are aiming for the upmarket segment with both Meta and Pico eyeing them and looking to develop a competing model should they succeed. That won't matter to use JAV watchers. You have to be crazy rich to buy into that segment just to watch VR porn.
I'm pretty happy with my quest 3. Standalone with an option to connect to PC, high resolution, 120hz refresh rate, tons of supported apps. What i think needs to improve is FOV and comfort, but that's an issue with most headsets still.
But yeah, if you haven't tried VR yet, you really don't know what you're missing. It really changed my perception of regular porn. Like, why would i want to watch these dudes have fun when i could be there instead?

The reason 99% of porn I watch is JAV, even though I am European.
About VR headsets, I am happy with PC VR (HP Reverb G2). I have never tried standalone so I don't know how the videos will look like. But what I have seen is that if I play a movie in HereSphere with the default options, it looks acceptable. And I guess that's how it looks in standalone. But, thanks to the power of my graphics card, if I apply 2X supersampling and MSAA 2X, even to 8K videos, then the definition improves a lot, like going from DVD to Blu-ray. And I don't need to use streaming.
So as long as I can I'll keep using PC VR, because I think you get better definition with videos. The worst thing is the cable, but I can manage.
