well, i firmly believe that physical boot drives and physical dump drives (ie, downloads and stuff) should be separate.
personally i have 4 hdds in my computer, 2 on raid0, and another for OSX and another for my downloads. I did recently lose a 750GBer hdd, but that was a drive for only downloads so nothing really pressing was lost. i have since replaced it with a 1.5TB hdd.
yeah, tip is keep downloads and boot partition on separate physical drives and that should reduce stress to the drive and prolonging the life span of the drive

Porn I don't care about, I don't even have porn on my PC, I'm all Jr Idols and perhaps more mature ladys but no hardcore stuff. I stopped collecting porn 3 years ago, I simply got tired of it. Tell me of JI movie that has any of which I have described above. I don't think little Japanese girls running around in swimsuits or panties, posing or running is porn. I have backups of my harddisks on secondary harddisks. Except for one disk which does not have a backup disk. Guess which of my disks decided it needs to fail today. Well, I've recovered most of it and learned once again, if you want to keep your data, backup!
