Probably because japanese production is the biggest of Asia (if not of the whole world). It's also a question of sharing, and for that japanese are very active.

Porn is illegal to varying degrees across most of asia, that a major reason you don't see as much from countries other than Japan. Also Asia is comparatively impoverished compared to north america or western europe, or even eastern europe or latin america, so more people are doing things just to get by, they don't have the luxury of a large porn industry purely for entertainment.

It's illegal in china and in the philippines, which would be the first two obvious places to try it. I believe it's also illegal in Vietnam and I think it's also illegal in korea.
