Alright, boys and girls, if SamKook is gonna be such an All-World, Rezu-JAV-download-enabler and all-around excellent Akiba Citizen, then I think we, I, owe it to him to provide some feedback when he takes a chance and tries out a new file-host, right?
So, even though I've already got one of his previous encodes of LADYA-010 I decided to d'l it again from 1fichier (which I'd previously recommended) and compare it with the other hosts he's posted it to. Strictly in the interests of science, mind you.
Here's what it's like in the U.S.:
1. Filejoker is well-named and all but useless for free downloaders. No news there, right? But it's presumably keeping A-O afloat, so that's the tax free(down)loaders have to pay...
2. 1fichier remains everything I experienced and reported before: the first 500MB rar came through at 6.1MB/sec in slightly over a minute!
3. After a ten-minute wait, downloaded a second 500MB rar from 1fichier at 6.1MB/sec (with occasional dips in speed). Once again, took a little over a minute!
4. After what they said would be a 20-minute wait (may have been less) got a third 500MB rar from 1fichier at 2.2MB/sec. Took four minutes.
5. Grabbed the last rar, 275MB, from uploadable. Came in around 220kb/sec, took 13 minutes. Uploadable still afflicted with jive-ass redirects so make sure you're using no-script or some such.
6. Tried Subyshare for one of the 500MB rars. Pop-up/re-direct hell. Came in at 130kb/sec. 'Nuff said?
Now, for each of the first two 500MB rars from 1fichier, the site states that to provide new users with the optimum experience they won't limit your download speed. When I went to grab the third 500MB rar, the message said that d'l speed would be limited to 5000kb/sec which, for me was the 2.2MB/sec mentioned above.
I don't know how new 1fichier is, I only started seeing it on other d'l sites - non-erotica only - sometime in 2014. But at this stage it's obviously great. How long it remains so -- we've seen this before with other sites that gradually throttle down their near-blazing speeds to typical 200kb/sec rates as their market share grows -- is anybody's guess. So enjoy it and use it while we can.
And big thanks to SamKook for the continued uploads, info and advice!
