I picked your suggestion and created the club ref. to your post, please come and join in, you will find it...

It is an open club where everyone can join in, in case it works we can keep it this way, if it doesn´t work we can change it to "invite members only" or we can create another club like that... - people must join in to see the contents / discussion.

Let´s see -> WELCOME

to be honest, I didn´t know too, so I just gave it a try...

it can be deleted - or edited - any time...

I think it's a great idea redrooster, specially for the OVAs from the 1980s and mid 1990s and for the 1960s-1970s movies. You should open it in a new topic just to avoid confusions between rare anime and rare covers. Rumic World The Choujo and Ninja Ryuukenden are, fortunately, not particularly hard to find. You should do it in a master list, where the first posts are dedicated to list the anime covers available along with miniature attachments of them, similarly to what you did in the "rare ero-animations which have not been found" topic.

updates for A174 and A178 today, but that´s not the reason I bump this thread: possibly I am missing one or even more entires in the list, especially reg. the Nicovideo releases, in case I did please tell. I always hope that missing list titles are mentioned with the slot no. in case they are posted. Thx.

Here is the data to download Elf 17 (A189) with Winny:

Filename: [アニメ] エルフ・17 セブンティーン (CS 640x480 WMV9).avi
MD5: 8007fbff7ec2a17f8d7f4bebb9fbe862
Filesize: 483,447,296 bytes (461 MB)

I haven't seen it in OpenNap, so we most likely will have to get it from Winny.

Coming back to entry #173 (Sango no Umi to Ouji) and many similar releases...

While I was looking for information about some Toei Video releases, I ended up in a japanese blog that had two very interesting posts:

http://plaza.rakuten.co.jp/ikadaoriemon/diary/201002190000
http://plaza.rakuten.co.jp/ikadaoriemon/diary/201002270000

The first is an extensive list of all "V-Anime" VHS releases from Toei Video, which means all the more adult titles of their catalog.

The second is even more interesting, because it lists all anime where Toei Animation got a hand in the production, but that were not published by their video branch. Quite useful for the crazy collectors like me.
And actually it shows many items with "シナノ企画", that is Shinano Keikaku, the makers of entry #173.

If I extract these titles from the list, it goes like this (with VHS reference when found):

And a separate entry, that was a series by itself:
人間革命 (全20巻) 1995.01-2004.11

Going back to Shinano Keikaku's webpage, one can make a correspondance with the recent DVD releases:

http://www.shinanokikaku.co.jp/?ac=user_product_list&gi=1&si=4

1/ AS-6 9/ AS-13
2/ AS-5 10/ AS-14
3/ AS-7 11/ AS-15
4/ AS-8 12/ AS-16
5/ AS-9 13/ AS-17
6/ AS-10 14/ AS-18
7/ AS-11 15/ AS-19
8/ AS-12 16/ AS-20

Titles AS-1 to AS-4 are older titles that were probably not produced by Toei Animation. All titles must be inspired by books of 池田 大作 (Ideka Daisaku), as his name (and face!) is everywhere. Now with one VHS reference it's clear that they come before.

About 人間革命, it's also there:

http://www.shinanokikaku.co.jp/?ac=user_product_list&gi=1&si=9

DVD contain two episodes. Must be semi-educational stuff, as jfgslo already indicated.

To conclude from this giant puzzle, all of these are kids animation, probably sold apart from the usual anime market. This would be quite impossible to find any rips, unless you buy the DVDs.

I had inserted this hash several months ago, and it did not trigger yet. There was a Nicovideo rip but it was deleted unfortunatly.

I have seen them in OpenNap, but, so far, only one user is trading it (tail|TRAIN), so, I think our best option is to get them from Winny. I really wonder if we will be able to get them from Winny, though. I'm betting that they will be as hard to get as Elf 17. I wish I had their data on Share.

The problem with these two series (and many other lost anime), is that the hashes were published back in 2004... pretty much an eternity in internet timescale.
To get something is just a question of luck then.

when writing a post in a fairy tale related thread in another forum I ran into this VHS cover of an animation reg. the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, just as the hentai posted here in this forum as: The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter - Kaguya-hime Taketori Monogatarii

yet I cannot find any information about it in the databases. Anyone able to get better informations - or already ran into this? I do not even know the amount of episodes as this is #1...

It is not identical to the hentai video I posted here as the screenshots are not matching the hentai video. Nearly half of the cover is popped up with labels and there is not any barcode for identification.

There even was a live action video of this fairy tale in 1987...

Apparently this anime version of "Taketori Monogatari" is from a 6-part OVA called "Anime Koten Bungakukan" (アニメ古典文学館), which was released from 2003 to 2004. Here is a link to the HP of the series:

http://www.sun-edu.co.jp/anime_koten/anime_0_koten.htm

It's a collection of animated versions of some of the most important pieces of classic Japanese literature. The other stories are:
  • The Pillow Book
  • The Tale of the Heike
  • Tsurezuregusa
  • Oku no Hosomichi
  • Man'youshu
But look at those prices! ~200 bucks for not even 20 minutes!? :guaah:
