2nd wifes are the most "chinese" traditional option, but forgert to stay below several hundreds euros every months (and is the ENTRY level..).
and for get a 2nd wifes u need speak chiense and be in good connection with local tradition..

for other entertaiment, is anyway expensive (KTV is around 150 euros..ecc)

living in china u can go bar and chinese club and keep comtact with a HUGE number of girls that sre happy to speak with you (in chinese...) send u sms (in chinese..) go out with u (and speak in chinese...).
without a good basic chinese u can do something for free (sure..) but the world that u can meet is really much bigger..

Yes, I´ve also heard that: a friend of mine went to Shangai one month ago and he told me that even the japanese girls he met in Tokyo tried to speak in english, in China was also the other side: if you don´t speak chinese... You have it very difficult!!

I won't claim to be the best tech in the world, the computer knowledge I have is somewhat incomplete and learned on the fly. One thing I have learned though, is how to surf to "blocked websites". I do it everyday I surf. You might be surprised at some of the sites that I have seen blocked. The usual sites seem to be tech boards, public proxy sites, torrent sites and porn sites. I have even had access denied to me for Akiba-Online on more than one occasion. But the internet was not designed to inhibit access to websites, that goes against the very soul of its' existence. There are ways around these types of "filters" which prohibit access to certain websites.

A clear indicator you are being denied access to a website is a 403 forbidden error. Mostly this is from the ISP you are surfing from,(although some are honest enough to actually tell you they denying you access), and occasionally this is from the website itself,(they are running an IP filter or you are trying to access a part of the site without administrator rights or something along those lines).

Sometimes a 404 "not found" message will come up for a blocked website. Then it is harder to discern whether the website is actually down or being blocked.

Tor is useful for staying anonymous and accessing blocked websites but it can be frustrating because the exitnodes are hard to control ,(if not impossible at times), as well as your request may be blocked by the exitnodes ISP. However Tor uses a variety or exitnodes and sooner or later you will usually gain access to the site you were trying to access.

While most countries, including China, that I have come across use different "filters" depending on the ISP you are accessing it can be hard to determine
who is blocking what without the trial and error approach. Proxies are very handy in this case and generally a proxy from the same country as the site you are trying to access well do the trick of bypassing any block your own ISP has set in place. For looking up domain names and such one handy site is:

http://www.all-nettools.com/toolbox/network-tools.htm

Public proxies are not illegal to use, although I don't claim to know the law in every country. For very restrictive and suppressive countries such as China I would suggest Tor as opposed to most proxies or proxy services. Tor encrypts your traffic which is something a regular proxy won't do, this greatly inhibits snooping of your traffic by your own ISP.

In general I am sad to hear about the "porn crackdown" in China. I despise censorship in principal and believe everyone should be their own judge as to what they should and should not see. People should not be treated as inorganic robots controlled by their own governments to do and think only how they are told. While I respect the law and the need for it, as well as rules and regulations in order to protect and serve societies in general, an individuals rights to free will should always be respected and honored. This is my opinion anyway.

it is really ture ,that china now has the world best technology- -it can be even banned TOR - -,no proxy software can be use in china now - -...
but still here we can use TOR by bridge mode..
just find a bridge ,use it to download the "hotpoint" map, then turn of the bridge and run tor again ...

thanks for so many people provide bridges for pepople in china to suffer from the fu-cking GF-W - -..:dunno:

and if you are in china ,have no idea to view blocked site..such as DW WORLD..,so bad, it even block bbc.co.uk - -,and saw this reply, you should go to use TOR to landing on the blocked site

I am a big fan of the Wiki, which always makes for interesting reading.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_censorship_in_the_People's_Republic_of_China

I doubt they actually block Tor, more than likely just block the Tor node IPs, which is almost as effective,(new Tor nodes come and old Tor nodes go so this is not completely effective). The VPN services are very popular with P2P users and sound like a possible option as mentioned in an earlier post. As far as internet technology being more advanced in China, well there is nothing wrong with taking pride in your country but I have to disagree. Internet censorship techniques are very good in China, probably the best such in the world,(let us face it, the harder one applies himself the better one is likely to get). However suppression of the free an uncensored exchange of ideas, and the lack of promotion of the same, inhibits and discourages the progression of knowledge. This is shameful for in my opinion China has so much more to offer to its' people and the world than they are presently doing.

No offense, but from my perspective it seems like Shanghai calling Hong Kong a city full of hookers is the pot calling the kettle black. I mean, Shanghai is a major port city as well, and port cities are typically associated with prostitution. I don't know for a fact that Shanghai has a high number of hookers, and perhaps Hong Kong has many more than Shanghai, but I doubt Shanghai is as minty-fresh clean as cities farther inland.

Oh well. Language is a problem...

On a somewhat related note, I wonder when will the Chinese start producing porn like the Japanese ?

i live in Ningbo (2 hours from shanghai...)
the real hosing estate is quite crazy everywhere if u want buy a house
about rent is little better:i pay 3000 rmb each months..is ok.

for 2000 euros i mean live as the chinese rich standard ningbonese man.

- here some advice about "professional service"
1)ktv room is not less then 600 rmb (if u are some people.not alone) and plus 300 rmb for tips and 1500 for take the girls home (i never do)
medium/high level bout good looking..is random about skills

2)fake hair dresser is really weird and not clean (anyway is around 150/200)..
for in call girl at home from hairdresser is usually around 500 rmb for several hours (usually not overnight..is around 800)
medium level about good looking..is random about skills (but they are friendly and often learn day by day)

3)5 stars hotels is not less then 600 (usually 850 in ningbo) for 2 hours..
high level about good looking..high level about skills (but no anal..usually)

4)sauna centers (middle way between 5 stars and hairdresser)
froim 200 to 400..and there everything is random..u can get all (included anal) or nothing..(but i rarely go these places)

5)street hookers
they exist...is rare..i only seee where they are,i nedd check

-here some advice about "ordinary nightlife"

i never go plce for foreigners. in ningbo are few..expensive and after 1 year u almost know everybody (not means that u cannot have fan..i did and for free..but i'm getting boring week by week)
i only go chinese club/bars. so play dice. drink whiskey and tea..ecc
there one table is not less then 500 rmb..but during the night is easy spend in total 800rmb.
in club u cna find everything for free..
the students..
the model (happens.. :))..
the prostitutes form 5 stars hotel that after 1 am go there to enjoy (happens...only one but I DID IT!!)
the dancers (they are the most hard to get..but i did. only once)

u need go there often to make a good group of "friends" and is really a bet everynight.
bar are the best place for meet locals and get a lot of phone numners and contacts...
is the best place for make u really involved with chinese life.and learn chinese basic language

-here some advice about food
chiense food is cheap and in ningbo u have hundreds of place for eat.really good and tasty.
but for good restaurant, if u want take u'r gf there, is around 400 rmb.not less

2000 euro is what i spent 1 months follwing the life of locals (bar/spa/hotels/incall girls)
but was a test. surely if u not go out evrynight is hard spend these money..:D

i don;t know about japan.really. i will go japan only if i can be sure to meet a AV idol less then 800 euros.
i tried contact some of them only for net friendship and with no wiull of pay money, but they never reply. now i think i will work much more on livedoor blog to try again.

I agree IB, they have made no noticeable inroads into stopping the illegal drug trade either. Australia is still 'tossing' around the idea of an internet filter; just put it on hold for a while till after the elections are over this week.
