movies wont play.

got all the codecs etc in the help threads. media player classic says "cannot render file". no matter what i play avi wise.

windows media players keeps saying "this file has an extension that isnt reconized by the player", but player still maybe able to play it..nope.none will on these downlaod links. other avi"s do from elsewhere..weired..VLC media player tried to play em,hangs..then nothing. errr.:damnit:

what universal player i need or need?. thanks.

You should first check what your file is really about (container, codec(s) used) with a program like Gspot. You should have Mediainfo too if it's a MKV. Gspot will tell you also if the file is incomplete or corrupted.

Once you are sure about the file integrity, VLC should be able to play it.

yes some were faulty. i got it fixed now. i just had to use a converter. thanks.

VLC can play broken files too. At least the latest version does whenever I had a broken avi. I like the free Mplayer whenever VLC hiccups on me which is rare.
