And now for my 'Obento Special' showing off just what kind of hard work goes into lunchtime. Japanese mothers (both those stay-at-home kind and the working variety) take a lot of time to make lunches for their children.

Spaghetti, karage (chicken), rice with little bits of seaweed and the orange stuff on the rice is tarako (fish eggs)

Top right to left: A meatball, piece of broccoli, tamago-yaki (kind of like a cooked egg), then the green slice thing is an edamame bean, a large shrimp and on the bottom ismore sea-weed with katsuobushi (fish flakes) all overtop of rice

Spaghetti with tarako-sauce, edamame beands on picks, two rice balls, two little sausages at the bottom, tamago-yaki underneath kuma-chan (the bear) and the bear itself is a decorative slice of fish-sausage

Two dumplings (with danish flags for some reason), corn, a little bit of salad with a cherry-tomato, a single meatball, the center thing is a potato-dumpling (kind of like those McCain Smiles) and a rice-ball with sesame seeds

Tamago-yaki in the top left, a single meat-ball, shrimp goopy stuff and rice with some form of topping.

A couple of meatballs, a few sausages, tamago-yaki and rice

Rice, karage (fried chicken) and broccoli salad

Cooked bean-sprouds, dumpings, small teeny hamburger patties and rice with hand-cut seaweed

Tamago-yaki, broccoli, sausages, potato dumplings, two pieces of karage, two 'octopus' sausages (pork), three little carrot hearts and rice

Rice, tamago-yaki, shrimp doria and some kind of green gunk

Rice with sausage and heart-shaped fish sausage, then dumplings, crab (real crab, not that pollock bullshit!), little hamburger parties and broccoli

Pikachu fish-sausage, two rice balls, a little 'round' thingy of cheese (the white thing on the bottom left), edamame beans, meatballs and spaghetti with tarako sauce

Ton-katsu, meat-balls, sausage and rice

Rice with some sort of sprinkles ontop, meat-balls and sausage

Tamago-yaki, sausage and rice

Sausage, spaghetti, doria with a smiley face, rice and some kind of topping that was in the shape of a pokemon character

Rice with a smiley-face (and bow!), karage, deep fried something-or-other, and some green stuff.

I export hardcore, softcore, taboo (animal, scat, barf) magazines and DVD's on a regular basis to Canada, the USA, a couple times to Mexico, Australia, England a lot and recently a few to Turkey as well.

Thanks for asking. I still have 3 friends that are missing, and sadly there is not a lot of hope to find them breathing. But my family here is OK. Just got to keep wishing and donating when I can. Donated blood again today, have bought a total of 12 pairs of gloves, 2 futon covers, sent up 30,000 worth of bottled water from Costco to Sendai and thus far donated over 100,000 yen to help out. Were it not for my gal-friday (so to speak), I would have gone up there myself.

Macaron (no, not macaroon). These things are fucking incredible. A little pricey (210 yen each) but they are incredible. I would eat these all day if I could. Flavors are champagne, chocolate, vanilla, green tea and something else that I don't recall.
