at least 1 part is back up. the 3rd node is somehow totally crashed and it seems like a reinstall didn't help...

and now the mailserver has some strange behaviour... i can't even access the system anymore.
hopefully they didn't do something with it...

So... no mail notification at the moment -.-
chompy is informed to take a look a the hoster

Mail-Server is gone for good. I need to reinstall it - but first ... find a hoster that still allows sending out mails!

we decided for a new hoster :/
waiting for chompy to buy it - reinstallation should take only about an hour; depending on the DNS settings.

Mail-Server is back online
it took a while because of personal issues.

There may still be some problems. For E.g. mail.ru is blocking the IP (I already asked for a removal)
but Microsoft accepted - google seems to be fine, too.

at the moment the mail-queues are being emptied out. Hopefully, google won't block us.
Also ... it's always possible that our mails will be delivered as SPAM - please check there.

oh. that's new. Some server rejected because of a too bad reputation.
so let's wait if this will get better :/

mhm. reporting isn't giving out more specific details as "daily" :/
not sure if this is then enough to put it on my dashboard. It's probably enough to just check for "running or crashed" :/

mail.ru ist now allowing out servers :)

TOP errors until now:
  • "Error: Some recipients failed"
  • "Error: Nowhere to deliver mail to for domain"
  • "Bad destination email address"
  • "Error: 554 30 Sorry",
  • "Error: Domain yyy.xxx sends and receives no email (NULL MX)"
  • "Error: 552 1 Requested mail action aborted"

and we had an outage of our asia frontend-servers :/
unfortunately we have to live with that
They are normally offline between a few minutes and 30-60mins. Updating DNS will in most cases take longer than just waiting :/

well....
provider did have some hughe hickups. Not exactly sure what has happened :/
but it crashed the database - twice. But replication is still up and running. It's a little bit fishy :/
perhaps the internal network crashed temporarily and something broke

let's hope for the best?

and hoster fucked up again.
main database-server did crash... rest of the cluster is configured read-only

The load balancer to our backend has some severe problems...
I probably need to boot them into rescue mode or even reinstall the two nodes.

if that happens expect downtimes :(
I will start this procedure probably Wednesday next week

A bit less usual problem - I've got a "See what you have missed" mail for the first time and... well... a fair bit of warning is that it may be rough for eyes, I had to scrub mine after seeing the "suggestions".

Dunno how this might have been activated, but read at your own risk, if you get one as well.
 
Thank you to whoever fixed the PW reset function. After several years I was finally able to reset my password and log back in. I've missed y'all.

Hello,

Did something happen recently to the site?

I had some links saved that are not accesible and also some posts I did that completely disappeared.

It seems that a lot of stuff has been deleted.

of course i had to fuck up the hdd-resize...

desaster recovery is running.
Unfortionately it's slow - really slow; about 1.5MB/s
so expect broken attachments, until the sync is done.

in the meantime i'm going to look out for a new backup -.-


Also... mail is working again...

also... while the sync is happening, attachement-upload will not work

Admins are resloving a site storage issue and till it's sorted there may be some functional disturbances.
