Please ... is the Search Function working????
The search bar on the top right of the website works fine for me using palemoon 29.2.0. Don't know if you're trying a different search though since there's more than 1 way to do it. Always helps to be as specific as you can when reporting a potential issue.

Thank You SamKook!
Yes, I'm using the search bar on the upper right ... as I have thousands of times before.
I've never had a problem in the past ... over many years.
Wish I knew what the problem is.

When I try a search ... I get the following message:

"Page could not be loaded

The requested page could not be loaded.
  • Check your internet connection and try again.
  • Certain browser extensions, such as ad blockers, may block pages unexpectedly. Disable these and try again.
  • Akiba-Online.com may be temporarily unavailable. Please check back later.
Reload"

The rest of AKIBA-ONLINE seems to be working fine for me.

Help is much appreciated, I'm dead in the water without the search function.

Which browser are you using and what version? Could be too old and it doesn't support a new feature from the updated forum software since it changed a couple weeks ago.
Also, what does it say in the address bar when you get that error?

A successful search should look like this("SEARCHTERMHERE" is what is written in the search box and the numbers will be different):
Code:
https://www.akiba-online.com/search/1261563/?q=SEARCHTERMHERE&o=date

Thanks for your help SamKook.
If I hit the "Reload" button in the message that I get (see above), the search function works.
So now I have a work around.
The problem is my old computer and old operating system (Vista) is not fully compatible.
I do have a new computer ... still in the box.
Yes .... I need to get to work.
Thanks again for your help.

I got this "page could not be loaded" error too, but in different pages. I thought maybe it was the site, but it was actually just my ISP blocking traffic to akiba. I've tweaked my browser to support SNI and DNS over https. Now it works *most* of the time..

Still being bugged by like undercounting - it quite well explains, why it is possible to have a like not showing up on post: if the board thinks that there are 0 likes, then it has no motivation to show who has already liked.

Giving this like-related problem a bump, as it gives a solid share of irritation every day.

Sorry for the double post but it seems that likes or reactions don't seem to count at least on my posts.

Edit: It seems that the likes of the specific user that likes my posts are not counted.
Not a specific, every post is undercounted. This is why a single like is not showing up, because board thinks there are none to display.

The way likes work is creeping me more and more - I see three likes on a post, I add mine, two likes are left in total. Did I just delete two? WTF?

Yeah, same problem here. I also notice the behaviour is different if you just click on "Like" or hover the like button and click on an icon. And sometimes disappear on refresh. Strange.
Finally, I never know if the author got my like or not.

Facing the problem where the post I just made is disappearing, reappearing, disappearing again and reappearing again with glitches and this cycle is continuing

Yeah! i did see this, but unfortionatly only around 10:00 UTC today. The DB-Cluster glitched. Never had this before :/
Perhaps I have to change the way we are now asking the database for queries (at the moment i'm splitting the requests on 2 servers) :(
The private messages are glitching, I had an entire conversation deleted
That's probably my fault. To resync the cluster one of the systems had to be the donnor for the broken node.
So the broken node stored your PM, which was not synced.

I try to fix issues like this - somehow... Perhaps setting up an read-only server and only read from this one.

I'm terrible sorry, that this is happening right now :(
I will try to hold the downtime as low as possible...

Here is the error periode :/
Not sure what happened here. But i now will add checks for "are queries in rage range" :(

*sight*
Errors in our Asia Frontend-servers

looks like some routing issues. Nothing much I can do here :/

edit:
Seems to be solved
Sorry :/

also: changed the DB Loading strategy. Hopefully the cluster won’t break again.

Another bug I'm experiencing right now is that all the editing options are greyed out, they still work if code is used but yeah all the options are greyed out and clicking them does nothing

@Gear9 maybe you are in BB-code view, it does not have buttons enabled for some (possibly absurd, that's still the same text and editor) reasons. Check the "brackets" button in upper right corner.

fuu####"§!"!!

Database crashed even harder.
I will change the whole DB-Setup in the next days. Until then: no cluster - perhaps something will be a bit slower; but it's proably hitting an asian server from the US

ahahaha... messing with the DNS
> https://www.akiba-online.com/thread...e-as-well-as-server-move.2000174/post-4379203
can lead to some very strange errors, like: fuck. there is no ssl-cert installed for the domain, due to using cloudflare-DNS <.<

Theme-rebuild ist running. I hope everything else will then be ok

Also there will be another hickup in the next weeks due to hitting the limit of outgoing transfer per month. I have to add some in-between-servers to get us more traffic... In the best case: you won't notice anything. In worst case: outage, because i've fucked up :D
