Problems after Joining .001 .002... files

Sorry I can see that alot of these .001 .002 type of questions come up. I did absolutely everything I could before resorting to posting a thread. :defeat:

So I dled all 13 parts to the video. Only .001 part works.
First thought I might not have the codecs.
Scanned the .001 file with Gspot Said I needed H264 codec
did it with .002 said couldn't read it.
Played with vlc and other various players. Installed the CCCP

Found other threads pointing to joining the files.
Then tried HJsplit and FFSJ.
HJsplit and ffsj worked, and the outputt file seemed to be the size of all the parts put together. (200mb per file to 2 gigs or so.)
I make sure to rename the file .avi.
Plugged the file into VLC and I still only see the .001 part before the video cuts off.

I disabled hide file extensions. too

You didn't say WHERE the files come from.

From.. one of the JAV downloads thread. Did you mean something else? Not clear on what you mean by WHERE.

I meant in which place the files have been posted.
You could have downloaded them from outside, it was not so clear from your side.

For the 24th time:
If you have problems with files uploaded in a given thread (dead link, password, joining files), the first and the BEST to do, is to ask for help directly in that thread.
