disappointing indeed about r18. Checked out ActionJav, umm not sure, feels everything's jumbled or maybe I didn't check thoroughly. R18 felt so easy to browse and nicely structured

That's the sad part truly, R18 felt so easy to browser, it truly was nicely structured with English version instead of google translated versions. I think the change is gonna take sweet time on me........only if I find something as good as r18.
RIP. I just saw it this morning. I was wondering, every few days or so, how this site is going to survive if they're not able to sell anything. Got my answer.
They weren't able to accept purchases from customers for a while. They said it was some kind of overseas CC issue. I think that long period sunk them. If there's more to it, I'm not aware.
I figure as long as we don't delete our cookies we should be able to still access them no?

Not sure about that. maybe it works as the website is still online but once they're closed, it will not work anymore.
I've been wondering ever since my CC didn't work anymore on R18.
If this is the case, then purchasing JAV will keep being difficult. Sad that the status quo will persist, just let us support the porn industry lol.

Actually, now that I've thought it about it, the biggest loss (for me anyway) will be R18's facial recognition feature. It's so good for finding the names of uncredited actresses and possibly their other works. I'll have to rely on asking this forum for identifications again oof
Probably works the same, initially I wrote a version for my personal use in 2019, now I changed it a little and released it. It is probable that a method of downloading was discovered independently by many, as it is very easy to discover if you have experiance in programming, especially in developing in php or similar server side language.
Any chance you could write a quick tutorial on how to use JAV-IT to download titles and remove DRM? It would be very helpful.
You can easily download content (decrypted) from R18 with this open source CLI tool https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp without spending money on JAV-IT.
The only "difficult" thing is to get the correct URL for downloading. For that you need to open the video in your browser, press F12, go to the network tab and find the URL with the playlist.m3u8. (maybe there is an easier way but that always worked for me)
Than just enter this in your CLI (after YT-DLP is installed) and it will download the video automatically with the best bitrate.

It's pretty simple, really, but a little intimidating if you've never used a command line.
Log in to R18 and use this browser extension to get your R18 login cookie as a cookies.txt file. For ease, save it into the same folder as JAV-IT. That's really all the prep work you need to do.
Go to your library on R18 and select the video you want to download. Click Stream as if you want to stream it. When that tab opens, the URL will end in a code, which always looks like a JAV id code but with a few extra characters thrown in (for example, one movie I own has the JAV code "SDDE-259" and the code on R18 in the URL is "1sdde00259"). That's the code you want to use.
Now you want to open a terminal and switch to the directory of JAV-IT. Run JAV-IT with the command:
Windows: .\jav-it.exe download -c [COOKIESFILE] -i [R18CODE] -o [SAVEPATH]
Mac/Linux: ./jav-it download -c [COOKIESFILE] -i [R18CODE] -o [SAVEPATH]
Where [COOKIESFILE] is the path to your cookies.txt you saved earlier (you can just use "cookies.txt" if it's in the same folder), [R18CODE] is the code for the video you want to download, and [SAVEPATH] is where you want to save the file.
So for me, the command looks like: ./jav-it download -c cookies.txt -i 1sdde00259 -o download/
Are you on a VPN or turning on a VPN in the middle of the download? Is your internet connection and/or VPN stable? Are you opening up another stream mid download that might be interrupting the yt-dlp download?
It's hard to know what the issue is without knowing your process. And who knows, maybe R18 has clamped down on things as they shut down.
