Rance Quest- translation help needed

There is a fan translation project going on that could use the help. I thought that some people who visit here might be interested in getting involved.

I admit to having selfisn reasons for seeing the game translated but so what? The Rance series is awesome! and Rance is my favorite "Super Hero" from any game ever made or concieved. That swashbuckling, dick-swinging, drinking, whoring, lucky, he-man, r**ist, non-politically correct hero; deserves to be translated! Remember: If Rance doesn't fuck her then she probably isn't in the story! (Now that is a credo any male hero would like to live up to)

When it comes to Japanese games Hongfire is second to none. They can be a bit snobby about it at times though, especially to those who prefer their games in English. I thank you for the link. Their game discussion threads are legendary and I find them well moderated.

Still, you don't have to be a member at Hongfire or even an HGame fan to help. Just someone who wants to make a difference. Translated games reach out to a larger fan base and introduce some of Japans craftmanship in this market to people who never have seen it before without foreign influence and editing. I have the greatest of respect for these fan translations. It is one of the most unselfish and giving deeds I have ever witnessed on the internet.

Update from HGTP:
January 17th: I don't know why, but there have been a lot of people applying for a translator position these last few days. Of course we're happy about this and accepted a couple of more people, which should give the project a push in the right direction.

Thanks to any of those kind souls helping to bring an instant Alicesoft classic to the english speaking people of the world. Of course if anyone from here desires to join in on the this effort that would be appreciated by many indeed for a long time to come.

Rance Quest Magnum has now been released which makes this the largest Rance Quest of all time. The size of the script is almost doubled for Magnum vs the base Rance Quest game.

Haven't got the game yet, but holy... doubled? Does that mean that Rance Quest (Magnum included) just became one of the biggest visual novels ever attempted to translate?

Then forget a 2013 release or anything near that, this is going to take a lot of time. This is just wishful thinking, [highlight]but one or two dedicated translators could do wonders (I hope they read this).[/highlight]
