So today while using yahoo messenger i got added by some girl and after asking who she was she reply saying if i wanted to see her strip and i quickly reply that i was not interesting in paying to see some chick strip but she reply that it was free and just to see how far it would last b4 i would be ask for credit card info, she gave me a credit card number with every info necessary to purchase credit in that site and out of curiosity i wrote a fake address with a fake name and the site granted me some credit. i didn't use any of the credit and i didn't give any personal information beside one of my yahoo emails. now the question would be if its some kind of scam ?

yesturday some girl add me on yahoo and told me if i wanted to see her strip.
the first thing that came to mind was one of those people that try and get you to join some pay site. i told her no cause i was not willing to pay to see someone strip, after i said that she said it was free i still didn't believe but i was still willing to prove sooner or later i would have to give credit card info and when that happen she gave me her credit card number and date and told me to write any name and address and out curiosity if that number would work i click and it did but it left me wondering if it was some kind of scam.

Firstly, thanks for using punctuation this time, I could understand what you were trying to explain. So she gave you a stolen credit card number to use... and?

i'm guessing it wasn't her if it work but i've already contact the site and inform them that the number wasn't mine and to close the account. i also didn't waste any of the credit that i was able to buy from that number.
what i find weird was the person insisted on me wasting the credit on a certain person in the site.

so far the account its already close.

If someone adds you in Yahoo Messenger that you don't know and never heard of before, then starts that bullshit about the credit cards . . . . . :notagain:
What do you think it could be besides a scam? :puzzled:
And aquamarine is right. Use of the English language requires, capital letters, apostrophes and periods, a.k.a. punctuation. :tea:

Capital letters are not part of punctuation. They are a grammar thing....:study:

Maybe it was one of those IM bots. Years ago, maybe around 10 or less at this point, they used to have what people I knew at the time just refereed to as porn bots, since they'd always just say random lewd things no matter what when they'd talk. They just work kinda like that Cleaverbot program, where it can seem like you're talking to a real person (if it ever actually works well enough), but it just has a way of saying phrases it learns, and will try to direct the conversation to specific things.

In this case, I'd assume it was trying to go for a credit card number to see if anyone would give real information to use, which would then be sent to someone who runs the thing for them to use. The thing is, I haven't seen those bots since back then, so I have no idea if they are even in use anymore. I have no idea if that's what it really was or not though. It's just as likely it was just another person still just trying to ask people for their numbers to see if anyone would do it.

Either way, like people have already said, it's just a poorly done scam.
