I see time and again people posting on Title posts themselves for re-ups. What do you think should be the proper method?

My opinion is they should PM the original poster first. If that member is no longer here, then, it should be placed as a request in the Request threads with a link to the original Title page asking if anyone has it to please post it.

I really don't think the Title post should be used to ask for re-ups, but, that's just my opinion.

For anyone that has asked for re-ups, do you get what you want from asking on the Title post? I'm guilty in the past of fulfilling those, but, not anymore. In fact my signature clearly states, for any that bother to read it, to PM me for any downed links. But, they don't they keep asking on the thread. I simply ignore them, sorry.

I think its a great idea. I, personally, haven't got what I've asked for to re-up directly in Title posts. I've thought that PM the OP was too intrusive. And the Requests thread is with so low activity. But I like a lot your idea. Just want to hear (or read) the posters opinions.

I have mixed results when I ask for reups, sometimes PMs go un-answered - sometimes (in other forums I frequent) the OP doesn't accept PMs

In that case there is no other choice but to post in the main thread itself.

If the OP has a sig specifically asking for PMs for reups then I would always choose that route
