If Japan were to change the laws to no longer require JAV to be Censored, do you think they would re-release older JAV that had the mosaic, as the fully uncensored version?

I kind of wish they did and I kind of wish they didn't. Some uncensored ladies will not look like you imagined they will. That might be a bad thing for me. Not to mention a possible flood of not-so-attractive stars starting to work for the major labels.

BUT! All of that pales in comparison to the fact that it would probably never happen. I'd imagine all the contracts with the stars never covered the possibility of being released uncensored because of the laws, so they probably wouldn't be able to anyway without amending contracts if not creating new ones. Wonder how many stars would say yes after all these years.

Great question!

I would imagine they would try to get "best x hours" uncensored releases for some of the big, semi-big names of the past. If they have to negotiate, they might and once a handful of actresses sign on, I'd imagine a lot more would too. It's not quite as bad if you're one of a group as opposed to the only one agreeing to release your stuff uncensored.

A lot of these girls make a decent amount of money, blow it, return. Re-selling uncensored is a chance to make the money without having to put the work in.

Sort of spinning off this question, do you think that the Japanese Government would change the mosaic/censorship law anytime soon?

AV Actress allow to buy back their copyright when they retire

they might but I don't think it will happen easily, its more complicated there a lot of legal stuff need to be take care, including performer's agreement, ecc

they might be, but not anytime soon, maybe need to wait for next decades

yes its a nice question, new contract = new money come in for them

if this happen we will see how many of them will choose the money over their "peaceful pride"

releases you say? I second that motion! as long OLD doesn't mean 40 years and older ROFLMAOL ...Ever noticed some JAV models start their young career with censored exposure then when they reach the mature age (always PC, didn't say old, dry and saggy), they desperately resort to uncensored production?

I don't think JAV already started at the 70s, so the oldest you can get are from 30 years ago :D

there is some reasons why they did uncenssored later in their career, has been mentioned in other threads

I know there we JAV movies back in the late 60's, but I forget if they were censored or not. More pinkfilms though.

Are we getting into AV pre-history now? VCR only become mass market since 1975, first JAV tape was when? Probably after 1980.

Before VCR, there were cinema, guys go to a cinema to watch adult film, literally film. My father also had some Swedish adult film (8mm format???) hidden in a box. (that was before Ikea) I don't know if there ever were any consumer adult film for purchase in Japan.

Now someone would impress the hack of me if he has any pre-VCR JAV.

Here is perhaps your impressive revelation : How about the printed porn?, HUSTLER & PLAYBOY were ( Yes no longer) pupular than the peep shows in the 'Combat Zone' awaiting for the opening days of the INTERNET as we know it!
