Selling used AV in Japan

I will visit Japan soon (Tokyo-Chiba). I have purchased a lot of rare JAV titles and plan to transfer them to a digital version on my PC. After that, I will have to dispose of them as I cannot take them back home with me. Since they are rare, it would be a shame to see them simply trashed (not to mention the VCR and disposal rules). What's the best option? Go to physical Surugaya store? Go to some other AV store? Are there any laws I have to be worried about? Is it better to be safe than sorry and just dump em?

Your best choice is to find a shopping street somewhere in Tokyo. I know about one in Ota-ku between the Keikyu Kamata and the JR | Tokyu Kamata stations. Proprietors there will likely give you some cash for your videos. Yes, they still stock videocassettes. Then they will be available for another person to obtain.

Hit up Surugaya for a quick sell, but if you don’t have a residence card they won’t buy them though.

I live in Japan, I’ll take them rather than you dump them haha

Awesome. Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll try that one street and maybe some won't care about not being a resident. Otherwise, maybe I'll end up posting a notice on this site, lol.
