This is already the seventh title in the series, featuring many of the main actresses in S1's catalogue.
Like i said, having the sixty minutes of build up is one of the main selling points of this movie. It gives the impression that this is an actual romance, and not just a flash in a pan thing like you get in many hook up movies.

My major concern is whether Rion can actually pull off managing to appear as though she is being filmed secretly. Her performance and acting normally isn't very good but i'm hoping that being in a more relaxed type of movie where she is being asked to simply be herself would help the issue. As you say, her major draw is

Sure I can get the concept. I can't name specific vids, but I have seen more than a few that fulfill that idea. Not a straight up meaningless pickup sex for fan service (the famous fap and gtfo fanbase), but either a (perhaps one-sided) romance between a man and woman or a plain seduction on a non-slut non-easy woman. There's a charm in it for sure. It's easier to work it with an "amateur" girl especially a girl I haven't seen in 10+ AVs (even in gangbang, bukkake etc) but it can work even with S-class idols. Maybe it's unfair to bring up a legend but Yuma Asami could pull it off with ease.

Anyway a great concept need to be carried out. I think SNIS-824 is a fail.

First I think the scripting/direction was weak, it's totally obvious that Rion was in on the fake voyeur game. So I was watching it and the whole time I was thinking this is bull shit anyway, so stop feeding me bad BS to try to convince me it's not BS. Instead make some good BS, it's not that hard. Yes I realise I'm rejecting a key point of this whole film series, and you already said you like the series, so let's agree to disagree.

Second, perhaps more damning... is that Rion herself is the problem. Last few vids, and the various discussion about Rion has sadly changed my opinion of Rion. Normally I am very superficial about AV idols, my priorities are clear: figures (esp. boobs), face, sex skills, acting, last is personality. With her goddess figure I was devoted to her no matter what, and hoping and waiting for her to eventually make better AV. Like, Julia in her early career was an inexperienced performer who relied on her figures to stay on top, but many (if not all) could agree she had improved greatly as a performer despite being a bit older and not as fresh. But for Rion, I am starting to lose faith in her.

Perhaps the problem isn't (just) S1, or the poor choice of vids, perhaps she's a particularly weak performer. Perhaps... even much much worse than that not as a performer, but as a person and a woman, suffers from some sexual dysfunction that she's not into it, and not able to fake it either. So what you see is what you get: a rubber sex doll with a fantastic figure, that's it.

Well this conversation could easily devolve into unpleasant argument over phraselogy.

There are plenty of examples for top tier vanilla girl coming "down to earth" and have a standard AV career which covers both vanilla all-sex vids (e.g. soap) and more elaborate "production" vids, orgy, fan fest, bukkake, IR, bondage, even anal. If the Chinese article can be believed then the studio is already facing a crisis: this vanilla girl persona isn't making mega hits anymore. Aimi started out with STAR followed the typical STAR progression(not really vanilla) then joined TEAM and became full Vanilla, and S1S1 before leaving the Vanilla world, I think she could've legit been top tier if it wasn't for her stint at TEAM, then S1S1 so early in her career.

Rion though, she's a "special attraction" and she keeps making S1S1 a lot of money, if she sticks there she will stay pretty popular, I think with her the specialty goes away if she goes and she just becomes one of the other girls. All indications over the years is that she never really had any interest in the industry just the money, so I see her staying Vanilla and getting paid or retiring, which is a rumor going around that she already might be retiring.

Also what do you think about Shoko, and Yua? two other girls that came in with big hype and a good following.

Actually I think both Yua and Shouko are where Rion/Shion was about a year into their careers- massive hype as "premium" av idols. Hard to say if they will remain where they are if they keep doing what they're doing. Though I would also disagree that you either have to become mainstream or retire. That is most often the case, yes, but every so often there's an exception like Kirara Asuka who debuted a decade ago and can remain on S1 doing relatively normal shit on a big label; it's certainly possible if you get big enough. I think both Ri0n and Yua could probably do something like that (not a decade, Kirara is probably unique in that sense), but could conceivably go a couple years with S1 or a different premium label. I think it's far more likely that both eventually retire though; Yua has been getting non-AV offers so I could see her quitting AV if she can sustain herself on those; Rion has never seemed to care about av outside the money and will probably retire sooner rather than later.
