If you see a violation(like hihih123 reuploading the same file to the same host), then use the report button(the triangle with an exclamation point on the bottom left of his post) and a mod will take care of it when they get to it and warn/suspend/ban him depending on the circumstance.
Hey all. Does anyone have tutorial on how to convert to 10bit or 50/60 fps? I'm sure SamK posted one a few year back now but I cant seem to find it.
Savajex link isn't really a tutorial of mine, it's only a collection of script, explained in details, that I use to make my encodes and prepare my posts(but it will do what you want). It hasn't been updated in a while though due to the lack of interest, but I'll update it on request.
If this really was what you were searching for, checking the tutorial section of the forum might have been a good place to start. I may have mentioned the subject a couple of times somewhere else, but I can't remember.
To convert a video to 10bit, all you need is to use the 10bit version of an encoder. I'm only aware of x264 having one which I get from
http://komisar.gin.by/ (the clear column). I you use some kind of GUI to encode, it usually has a copy of the x264 exe somewhere and you can replace it with the 10bit version since they work exactly the same.
For the 50/60 fps, the source has to be interlaced for it to be worth it and give good result. You simply have to use a deinterlacer which can interpolate the missing half of every fields. I personally use QTGMC which is a filter for avisynth which was made by someone on the forum with Idol videos in mind and gives amazing results(but it can be really slow at the higher settings).
If you don't feel like using my scripts or learning how to use avisynth, the easiest way to encode DVD's to 10bit 50/60 fps video would be to use
MeguIVit which pretty much automate the process. Changing the x264 exe is a bit tricky since it's a sandbox. You have to do it via an open file dialog window to have access to the virtual folders and I forgot where it is, but it's not very hard to figure out from what I remember and probably specified somewhere in the thread.
If you only want to reencode already encoded files like wmv, avi, mp4, mkv, ... , you should forget about 50/60 fps since they're not interlaced and interpolating complete frames give pretty poor results, but you can use my re-encoding script(see link in my sig) with the 10bit x264 and pretty much just have to drag and drop files to convert them.
Although I encourage people to use 7898789's Chinese host. It's quick personally.
Since he changed it, it's so slow that all the files time out before they can finish here. With the old one, I could dl 6-7 files at 200KB/s at the same time without any problems.
