Note that this is version 2 of the series. The first movie (MMNA-017) had the same sort of scenes / story beats - so, yeah, pretty sure it was scripted, but it was pretty convincing acting.
A few other JAV rezu movies I've seen with memorable emotional scenes:

MMNA-014/017 and the recently uploaded movie have al been directed by Masaki Nao. She has a signature style and I can pretty much always tell if something is made by her, especially if it's a lesbian work. Her movies tend to either fall into two categories. One is the "r*** and then fall in love" which usually involves some kind of choking (seriously, that shit is in like most of her movies and same for when she acts in stuff like the LZAN movies). And then there is the documentary style movies that we see here.
She makes these kinds of movies a lot, the "documentary" kind that usually results in both actresses crying at the end and acting like they are in love or as if it was the best thing ever. I am gonna put an emphasis on acting here because thats what it is. Sex is intimate, even if it's filmed and has a script, so its easy to conjur certain emotions. And lets be honest, these girls are pro's. Sure, they are no Meryl Streep but they are actresses that have made dozens and dozens of movies, they know what to do.
Nao was also the brain behind Shiina Sora and Katagiri Erika. Same for Sora and Miyazaki Aya.
