Been watching JAV since the 90s/internet. Mostly watching all sorts of variety JAV -particularly all the "weird" setups you don't see in western porn like all the timestop, huge orgies, dance, contest themed etc- with the few JAV performers whose faces I find have star appeal/unique enough for me to recognize.

The only thing that's changed is that a few years ago -out of sheer boredom- I started paying attention to solo-only idol stuff (particularly chakuero ones) and pinku-eiga softcore movies, figuring that was a good way to familiarize myself with a (potential) JAV performer's face before watching her in a hardcore video, to try and get a "I can't believe she did that!" celebrity sextape kick out of eventually seeing her perform in AV. Sadly the softcore movies rarely get shared online. And I don't even want to consider having to follow jpop girls like akb48 on the offchance that some of them eventually go JAV.

Getting the celebrity sextape effect out of a first nude video or first BG is much easier to achieve when it comes to western girls on social media. Usually you just gotta follow the sort who put dance videos up on tiktok or ASMR/tryon hauls on youtube, after a few months to a year of teasing videos on social media they eventually open up an onlyfans.

Now more than ever with the new JAV laws where they're supposed to wait something like 4 months before releasing a girl's video, that's more than enough time for a chick to create a significant social media channel by recording a couple of minutes every day. Something to set her apart from all the clone troopers.

If you like story line and great acting in AV's I would strongly recommend watching movies from the 2019 AV queen Minami Aizawa. 相澤南 She is so beautiful and acting is so good she brought tears to my eyes twice! Once in IPX-604 and another in IPX-784. It surprised me as much, considering I watched AV since 90's. Don't give her a pass. Watch her IPX-604, IPX-784, IPX-666, IPX-750 and the recent IPX-889. I am not really a stickler for the best acting or anything like that but I like how JAV actors/idols stay in character and make it seem like a movie not just a quick porn scene like you get from western porn.

I actually do have a taste that has changed after all.

I used to have this feeling too! It's known as "JAV burnout", For many years I have suffered that too! Until I came across Minami Aizawa from Idea Pocket in 2021 Jan, who broke this pattern with her great movies. Imagine my thrill when I first saw IPX-604 which brought tears to my eye (On the 3rd r*** scene)! It was an "OMG! What is this?" kind of feeling. Totally fascinating. It's beautiful, emotional and very well done movie based on an Idea Pocket famous series.

Another one which stands out totally is another great Idea Pocket series: IPX-666. I rate it as the best JAV movie I have seen last year 2021.

This is - oh man..! This movie is just simply fun, sexy, beautiful and all an AV should be. Minami acting as the little devil nails it! The male actor Yuta is so in sync with her that it feels like they are a sweet couple. And Minami's make up removal scene is a MUST SEE! Spectacular. Don't miss this. On Minami Aizawa's movies, one will have to really sit down, get a cup of coffee/wine, and enjoy them as is. My suggestion is: Do not view it like other AV where you skip the "story" and go for "action" hoping to find some scenes for undisclosed usage. This way, one will not be able to really see how enjoyable and detailed her movies were. Yes yes I get you! But the plot in ''死ぬほど大嫌いな上司と出張先の温泉旅館‘ series is pretty much my least fav of IdeaPockets various series. Take "出張先相部屋NTR" or "終電ないならウチおいで" series instead. all the subtlety you mentioned are much better. Did Azusa Hikari want to have sex with her boss? Absolutely not. But she admired him as a successful man, she let boss know about her disappointment with her boyfriend, she got drunk, unnecessarily, in his company, the dialog doesn't make it explicit, but as you watch the story unfold, you have to wonder if (a) Azusa wanted boss to fuck her? (b) she wanted boss to do so by force? (c) she only subconsciously wanted boss to take her by force, in her head she wants to be faithful to her boyfriend but her decisions and actions wanted the events to unfold that way.
