About POV, let me explain my point of view (ahem)...
When I first encountered porn and started masturbating, I also avoided porn with guys in them, so that means: nudity (no sex), lesbian porn and very rarely POV porn (back then it was very rare). That's for 2 reasons (1) just seeing a naked boob was more than enough to get me off, (2) homophobia, i.e. I was afraid I wasn't straight. POV was (mildly) attractive for a brief period, because I was starting to need more, nudity and lesbian sex wasn't quite enough and I need more stimulation simulation that I was having sex with a tv screen. Obviously I was still a virgin.
But I got over that quite quickly. When I became sure of my sexuality, I lost my homophobia. I became un-afraid of naked men, even gay naked men (but not ugly person, men or women). I can admire beautiful men, sometimes even getting slightly jealous.
I also got to have sex quite regularly. Watching porn isn't a substitute for sex. Sometimes it's a foreplay, either for sex with a partner or by myself. Other times, I just watch porn as regular entertainment. Like watching a cooking show, it's fun to watch, period. I almost never cook, watching cooking show is not a simulation of myself cooking. I also watch sports on TV, and I enjoy it without ever needing to pretend I score a goal myself. The only comparison is POV games, yes back in the days I sunk a large part of my youth to flight/space sims like Wing Commander and early shooters like Doom. But game is different and I totally LOL when I saw the POV scene in the Doom (movie with the Rock).
Watching porn isn't a substitute for sex, it's an enhancer, augmentation. I enjoy watching beautiful people fuck and do nasty things, pushing limits on their bodies and sensations and not be limited by the fear of penis and need to simulate the angle of view of doing the sex myself. E.g. one of the things I like is watch a beautiful sweet girl getting fucked in two or all three holes. Its a huge turn-on but excluded in POV. Not because it's awkward to place the camera to simulate the viewer is part of the threesome or foursome action. But because the POV audience can't stand the idea of another penis so near his face.
In almost every other form of entertainment or media (except interactive games), POV is understood as a cheap trick. I don't want it, it annoys me. It's target audience is loser cherry boys, and I am not one of them.
I'm especially annoyed that POV has become so dominant in JAV. I wouldn't mind watching a POV scene or vid here and there. But it seems last year or so POV has taken over the whole industry. Especially one of my fav genre(s), orgy and harem (reverse gangband). POV has crowded out orgy vids (of course you can't make an orgy POV scene), in place of it is harem vids, 95% of which are POV.
