I've seen Yuuna Himekawa listed with a single u a few times, but I've never seen Yuna Yamakawa listed as Yuuna.

I mis-read, and that is SO confusing. That will be an easy fix as I don't have many Yamakawa titles.

On the topic of organizing JAV, I'm curious why do you guys have so many folders and subfolders? Why not just have one big "JAV" folder and put all your files directly in there?
I use the "one big folder" method which I find to be very simple and fast so I'm curious what benefits you guys have seen with using multiple folders. Seems like it just makes things more complicated and requires more clicks to get to the actual movie file.

Thanks for that @mysticred, I'm actually a mac guy too, but I've never used smart folders before, let alone tags. I'll give it a try. I can easily see the benefit to using tags, but so far I'm not sure what the hype is regarding smart folders. I suppose I'll play around with it.

The translation of Yuuna's name from Japanese is unmistakably "Yuuna" (ゆうな）. It's probably shortened to Yuna in western releases for ease. Kinda like Saya is a lot of the time from Saaya (さあや）.

You aren't including my method in that are you? Because I agree with you... I think? I noticed some people sort their collections in unique ways lol. With my method, it's only 3 clicks..

Root of drive
1. Censored - Uncensored

2. Hundreds of folders for each label (either censored or uncensored, depending on which folder I clicked above), even if I only have a single release for a particular label, it gets a folder. I should note: I have this folder set in "list view" and have a 4k monitor, so I can see every folder at a glance.

3. Inside each folder, are the videos for that label (sorted by title ID w/ cast list in filename)

Or is even my method not simple enough? Cause I agree, once you get into making folders for the maker, genres, ect, your collection would get pretty convoluted. I wanted to avoid that and have it sorted in the most efficient (yet organized) way possible.

I think we talked about it before, that's what I do for the most part.. no studios or actress subfolders, just one (well several now, across multiple drives) folder with a folder for each movie, named movie code first, then the actresses in the movue, or at least the ones I care about for movies with many actresses. Inside the folder just the movie and cover. The tags on the smart folders are pretty nice though, I wish Windows allowed metadata for folders.. or if there were like something as mature as id3 tags for porn movies lol.

That actually would be kinda cool... but yea, it would have to be something integrated into the OS. I've never been a fan of using external files/programs to keep my files organized. I prefer having all the info I need in folders and filenames. I ALWAYS delete those pesky m3u's from albums I download lol.

I'm using Windows 10 as my OS and I put all my JAV including the cover in one folder after I rename it to "name - tittle (code)" format
I can browse the cover or search specific names/tittles/series/makers with only Windows file explorer

Long time lurker first time poster.

I just wanted to share some insight for a quick and easy way to organize your collections.

Pretty much you run the app, browse to the folder with your movies, batch select them, click scrape and it automatically goes through 5 common JAV site for images and metadata.

There's also specific scrapers for HEYZO and 1pon and it aeems to support every release and it's a lot easier than hunting down this stuff.

After it scrapes every media file simply click Write File and it'll generate 3 files that will provide metadata and artwork to certain media players like:

Media Companion
Kodi
Plex

After that you're done.

What the hell is going on with Minimum? Their site lists all the April releases as coming out on April first, with an update saying some releases may be delayed and their release day will be adjusted. DMM lists the April releases "distribution start date" is the 22nd, and release for both download and DVD is 25th. Then DMM says the May releases are coming out on April 27th, I assume that will change. Putting off Kotohane Shizuku's graduation film doesn't delay her retirement, as much as I wish it did. They should just take the extra week off and go back to releasing on the first.
