I had my little rant about censorship and all that but allow me to look at the other side of the coin for a moment.

No censorship at all is just chaos. It is only logical that there be some rules and guidelines in society to prevent this.

Young people are often very impressionable and what they see on television, hear in their music, play in their games or read in magazines can seriously influence their behavior. This is not debatable, it is a fact with plenty of evidence to back it up. Any adult who doubts me please try to remember the fads that were around when you were young and where they originated from. Based on these facts it is not unreasonable for a governing body to pass laws to protect children from unwanted influences which they may not be mentally prepared to deal with. A childs mind, like his body, must mature in order to reach adulthood. (Just exactly when this is accomplished is an unneccessary factor for the purposes of this discussion).

I understand all of this, I even find it reasonable to a certain extent. Censorship in moderation, like most things, is beneficial to society as a whole.

The reason I went into this new rant is simple: I would not want to sue the government over loss revenue when the law they are complaining about is specifically targeted towards the protection of children. If you do you are not going to find a lot of friends in your corner. You are going to look like a monster that is exploiting children for monetary gain. And that is why I think no company has filed suit over this law.

well, i say its time we ban other things too: lets take the anime titled 'pokemon' off the air & stop its production: there are little animals on there being abused; their owners are making them fight for sport. which is causing a huge influence on people in the real world: they too are making their animals fight.

its not just Pokemon, there was a little a little american boy, who copied a 'move' from 'gara' off of the anime 'naruto' & as a result he got sand all in his lungs (or something like that) then died.

its all violent animes, games, movies, its causing our children too behave badly. we must ban it all. from now on, everything must be about friendship rainbows & candy; woohooo.

GIVE ME A BREAK!. THERE IS NO HARD EVIDENCE FOR 'MOST', 'MOST' OF WHAT I JUST SAID. JUST AS THERE IS 'NO' HARD 'EVIDENCE' BEHIND THE REASON OF THIS NEW LAW.

There is a difference between baseless opinions and facts. Yes, television and movies are proven to have a negative effect on younger minds, period.

I could add dozens of more links to support my statement. You may not like the facts but they are there. This does not mean I support the new law and I have even stated that I don't. Regardless of my feelings and your opinions there is an actual basis for the argument behind this law. All this law is saying is that some manga that is now available to children should be adult only material. If you think that children should be allowed to read comics/manga about r***, sexual violence and other clearly adult subjects then please do us all a favor and don't have any children of your own.

all understatements. & many of those links with particular information are not facts. yeah, sure maybe in your mind they are. & of-course to many others as well. but, lets face the real truth here: you only showed me theories. i too can pull links out of my #$% that can back up what i just stated. but does that make what i said true?... unless you have a degree in child psychology, i only have this to say: your words are as useless as leafs blowing in sky.

#1 i thought this law was also about banning fictional children out of manga that portray them engaging in sexual activity?.

#2 DO NOT TELL ME I SHOULDN'T HAVE KIDS!!!!!!!!!,
simply because you are too ignorant to have understood that there may have been a misunderstanding about this new law on my behalf.

#3 you seem like the smart-ass type who would make someone out to be something that they're not.

sorry, but i'm not the kind of guy who would deny so-called "facts" simply because i don't agree with them. that's something a self-centered-self-righteous narcissist would do.

go back & read carefully what i previously stated, then the real truth will be revealed: oh wow, there was some sarcasm throughout what i previously said :surprised:.

EDIT: please, don't anyone take me as being a mean/rude guy. cause i'm really not (i'm actually the shy type). i just have anger-management problems.

#1 Apparently you had no idea what the this thread was referring to and decided to join in anyway. Now who is being ignorant?

#2 If your parents had decided to not have kids I would have been saved reading your reply to this thread.

#3 So I picked on you a little bit, big deal. Get over it. You didn't know what you were talking about and kind of deserved it didn't you?

There are is a good thread on the subject if you care to reread it:

Stuff turned a bit too serious huh.... XD

I guess it is true that there are some awkwardness is trying to file a lawsuit.
But as you guys said (or more like showed) that everything depends on how we see it and which point of view one chooses to support.
My curiosity has been satisfied, I thank you guys. :)

Personally speaking, I never actually cared too much about it since the way stuff works is pretty simple, right? If the enacted law bars the published work from being interesting then the industry will lose popularity and will either die or move on to a different direction. Just like how the sun will always rises every morning. (hopefully :p )
