Mostly nice list. I'm a little surprised by the top two picks, though. Number two is a premise... I'm pretty sure I've seen is western porn, a long time ago, though. Number one, though - my Japanese is fairly decent, so what I tend to think of as "weird JAV" is more the sort of stuff I can show to my non-Japanese-speaking friends, or make a webm and throw it up on Reddit and get easy attention because it's visually strange/creative/absurd. I admittedly haven't seen the number one pick (can't say it sounds up my alley, to be honest) but it seems like a video you could take a fifteen minute clip from, throw it on Pornhub, and the majority of people with no Japanese ability wouldn't think there's anything different about it from any other vanilla Japanese porn. The premise is certainly weird, though, but personally I would have put it at #10 and threw something else at #1.
I have to say I agree with this statement made in number five, the newscaster one, hard: "This series is still going today although in a slightly toned down manner." Big fan of this series, and they've been ok but a bit disappointing for a long while now. Would love to see this series make a grand return when Covid isn't an issue any more. My personal favorite is RCT-264; I like the irama and clothes ripping and rougher nature of it - really emphasizes the humiliation angle of the premise, which at it's core is what I think the appeal of the series really is. But the Maria Ozawa one is fun for the English aspect as well, that's pretty rare in JAV.
There's also some great candidates that could've made the list, particularly on the "visually strange" aspect. Not too much SODCreate on the list, outside of the bicycle one - I think the SDDE "gloryhole" series is a pretty strange concept, with women just going about their daily lives when suddenly out pops a dick from the elevator wall... better suck it off! What else to do in such a situation? Or, also SDDE, the "Always Fucking" series. I quite like the fairly recent "Lesbian couple" one, but the "Murder drama" one is a great choice, too, when it comes to strange. Hell, take any time stop video and slap it on the list - it's probably not a strange concept to JAV fans at this point considering how many titles there are, but to the wider "normal" world, it's pretty out there.
Still, though, this is my favorite article so far since you guys started doing this. Probably 40% of my JAV collection is buttfucking of some sort or another, and the rest is the "weird" stuff (or really anything that vaguely can fall under the concept of "freeuse"), so I think that shows what my tastes are. So this was first article I was actually excited to see what you guys (multiple writers, right?) picked.
