The guy in this movie is maybe the most famous (and busiest) old actor in JAV. I have seen him in hundreds,
yes, hundreds of movies. He has banged almost every girl in the business ranging from big stars to amateur lolis.
He surely is one of those 70 male actors that are big in business and have to shoot several times a day and are under pressure to perform. It's a dream if you think of all the beautiful girls, but it might not be a dream life every single day.
But overall I agree with you! If you can make it into the japanese AV business with being old, fat and ugly - that could prove to be the perfect condition! You won't get overchallenged with too much work like shooting every day week after week, because your appearance is only demanded in a small market segment. It would be more like two times a month. And the director would give you more freedom, with less pressure than on a young man and would not demand a high class performance, because he knows you are already old and not that powerful anymore.
Still you would get a lot of beautiful girls (often some of the most beautiful), because viewers love the contrast of old+ugly versus young+beautiful.
And you would still get much more young and beautiful girls than you would in life outside the industry with your appearance.
