Upload problems

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice regarding uploads.

To upload files to rapidshare, I use RapidUploader. For files smaller than 50MB, I usually have no problems, but if I try to upload say a 100MB file, my PC slows down significantly, almost to the point where I can't use another program simultaneously.

Most movies posted here that have been uploaded to rapidshare seem to have been split into 100MB chunks for ease of download and because of rapidshare's size restrictions, but I can't really do that.

Does this just mean that I have a cretaceous PC that can't handle it? Or am I making an obvious mistake?

Thanks

Ah IdolFun, I can't imagine a more qualified person to help!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try to use the site and reply tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I tried that to begin with and started using RapidUploader because I was having that very problem....

It might be your browser.

I use firefox, but if I want to do a dedicated task, such as uploading a large file to megauplod/similar or viewing BBC iPlayer, I always use opera.

That way if firefox crashes or decides to piss all over my ram, it doesn't matter.
