I'm going there next year, hopefully I'll meet the girl of my dreams :) Always wanted to marry a japanese girl, I think they're smarter than western girls :cheer:

I am here now in Atsugi, yes I am military with a wife not American only by naturalization but even she has agreed that Japan is better than the U.S. For me Haruto, it is the cultural experience I am loving so far and I have been here since December. I have lived in Europe and the Middle East and Japan by far is much nicer, IMOHO. I have been around different areas but not lived in the sense of on the town. I am forced to live on the military base for there is housing already. This is the part I worry about, the size of homes I hear is small. I have enjoyed the super markets and the other shops. It is expensive since the Yen has beatin the dollar. As for the women Hot and Hot but after awhile they look the same and coming from me, who loves that fact they still have fur down below, I have not really wanted to be involved because how clingy I hear they become, that is from the guys I work and go out with, but I don't always go off of what other people say because it is or can be different with each girl.
I dig Japan once I leave the military and try to work in a different capacity I will see a significant change but as of right now I am happy to be here.

It's a great place and I couldn't agree more on the hair down there haha but I'm just saying everyone on this board that hasn't been to Japan probably has distorted misconceptions of Japan. Having East Asian Studies as a major and learning a lot about Japanese history, culture, and even contemporary culture as well as having Japanese friends and girl friends and living in Korea which is in some ways comparable to Japan, I was sure of what to expect but it wasn't. It's a great cultural experience, I actually miss it already (but that might have to do with the fact I didn't have to work and I got to chill with my room mate who is back in Vancouver) but it was definetly different than what I had expected, in a good way.

Read my initial post again, it's meant for people like you.

I am in total agreement with you there,
In my like, I have done a lot of travelling, there is only one country where I have kept contact with a girl, and it was not love,
Unless you are really lucky, and I mean unbelievably lucky, or you have been to an online dating site, my belief is that you should do your home work first, and listen to the advice given here, otherwise I feel you will be disappointed.
Having said that, I wish you all the best, and good luck
I also hope to go there next year, perhaps I see you there, will I see the girl of my dreams, maybe, will it go further than see, probably not, sigh, but that is realistic.

Last thing, go as a traveller, enjoy the delights that is on offer, but most of all politeness and a soft smile, goes a long way in any culture, most of the time, people will try to help you, and do not put any pressure on yourself finding the girl of your dreams, she maybe living on your doorstep.

Good Luck
CK

Honest question, have you ever been to Japan AT ALL in your life? If your answer is no, read the OP.

Yeah but the first time I went it took me almost 2 years to save up the money and being stingy for 2 years considering I like video games, going out and holidays etc was bloody hard but bloody worth it!

raw horse?

I had a wide variety of foods thanks to Keiko and my willingness to experience new things, including raw horse and beef intestine (which were both delicious), however there are 2 foods I love in Japan: Mos Burger (seriously, better than McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Lotteria, you name it) and JYAMON! Jyamon is one of the best foods ever and we had it at a class B restaurant.

I also loved having am/pm chicken karage+ton katsu+seasoned rice bento for breakfast every morning and washing it down with a Red Bull...I brought home 26 cans of Red Bull and finished them in under 2 weeks.

seriousle raw horse??? i'll give it a shot! where did you find it?
