There are some niche like Yui Hatano. She did filmed some scenes where she's a mean tomboy with minimum makeup that curse and don't shave her armpits. Sometimes, in the bts or aftermath of the sex scene you might get to see your idol teasing the guy or revert to her regular self talking, but it's still quite tame compared to America. Japan emphasize on the acting feminine on and offscreen + plot especially in those force sex movies. To satisfy fans of both sides of world, we've seen a lot of Caucasian and Latinas film av for Japanese studios either in L.A or they travel to Japan like Mia and Abigaile. Dandy also sent their av idols to film to bbc in L.A and Africa.(the African natives is staged though)
Marcia Hase did a few interviews where she said in Japan av idols are treated like princesses at least the popular best sellers working in mainstream studios, but in America you need to bring your own clothes and do your own makeups.(American studios like Digital Playground does have their own wardrobe and makeup artist, but I guess she was a newcomer back a few years ago) She also mention American fans don't care if you're dating, smoking, cursing, or doing extreme rough sex. In Japan and probably most Asian counties, most of the fans there fantasize each av idol as a perfect feminine girlfriend just for himself and she played along with it on social media websites and events.
