Often antivirus identify certain behavior of stuff as viruses preventively instead of being sure it is one so it's always tricky, depends a lot on what it tells you the virus is to know if it's really one or something that could be one.
Often viruses are contained in ads rather than directly on the site so with an ad blocker, it might solve that problem.
I just use the default windows antivirus and never ran into that issue, but I also don't visit a lot of sketchy sites and I have an ad/sketchy sites blocker on my router and an ad/script blocker in my browser so I'm not really at much risk to find them.
