Since history is written by the winners, an objective glance my be required.

Do you realize who said that? My favorite general of all time, Napoleon. Still, revisionists tend to gloss over facts. Sure Japanese internment camps were awful yet that does not mean there were never any Japanese spies caught in America. People tend to forget the world population in the 1940s', the estimated million casualities to conquer Japan by force was over double the casualties already recieved by America in both theatres of the world. America wanted an end to the war badly and no town and few families were unaffected by the deaths and maimings incurred already. So by objective, don't make the same mistake that many revisionists do, remember that all are victims in war, the winners as well as the losers.

Forgive me. This is Memorial Day Weekend here in America and the deaths of friends and family that served our country weigh on my mind. Many are proud to die for their country but there is no glory in death, only sadness. Doesn't really matter what side of a war your on when it comes to that.

If there is anything worth watching this weekend feel free to share it.

Agree with your comments and feelings above, Ceewan, and it's also worth remembering that Japan's inhumane, violent, barbaric practices stretched across many Asian countries over several decades, preceding Pearl Harbor.
Just grabbed the most recent GOT off the web (S06E06). Won't post any spoilers, but as usual, it was a good one. One of my favorite story lines of the show is that of Arya Stark, and with this latest development, it will indeed be interesting to see what comes next.

Just finished watching it myself. I hope that "priest" gets what is coming to him but good. Hate that guy as much as I hated the boy king (not to crazy about the cowardly new king either). Aya, great character, hope she lives a long time in this. No telling though, not with this series. Everyone is fair game. I really enjoy how Game of Thrones so effortlessly shifts characters to the center of their own story without in any way detracting from the overall story...merely broadening it. The scope of this series is the biggest I have ever seen. Good stuff.

Pic of Arya Stark, season 06, played by Maisie Williams, for great justice.

She did make the Fappening and she did a scene in the movie "the Falling". No real big deal actually.

I am more interested in the Secret U.S. Classic next weekend which is one of the qualifiers for the Women's Artistic Gymnastics Olympic Team. Very interested if my favorite Ragan Smith will make the team but competition is very deep. The American Womens' team are early favorites in this years Olympic games and have been dominating events so far but there are at least two or more new hopefuls to unseat some of the veterans and represent the USA at the games. I wish I knew if someone was going to offer a high quality torrent of it or whether I need to catch the live stream.

http://www.secretclassic.com/live/

There are five women on the Olympic team (not counting alternates) and there are 24 seniors competing at the Secret Classic (which is one month before the final Olympic trials but counts in the final decision process). Ragan Smith just moved up to the senior division this year along with Lauren Hernandez and they have been both turning a lot of heads. Simon Biles and Gabby Douglas are likely a lock with the last three spots up for grabs and Aly Raisman leading the way for one of those spots. Brenna Dowell is another high ranked favorite and Ashton Locklear is an uneven bar specialist good enough to warrant some recommendation. Who knows what young girls dreams might be realized at this event? Best wishes to all of them (crossing my fingers for ya Ragan!)

Of course if you aren't a fan of the sport you probably won't be all that interested. It seemed worth bringing up though.

I'm hoping The Hound will return. He's despicable in very many ways, but evinced a few decent qualities in last season's story line with Arya, and his death was only implied, never shown. Pic for great justice.

Loved the hound.

So I am looking forward to the return of Powers from, of all places, the Playstation channel. The first season was fucking great. This series is done the way a super hero series should be done, with imagination and originality. Mind you, there is of course some similarities to other super hero type of programs but all super hero programs are going to fall under a common genre.

The Last Ship, a so-so "drama" with nice patriotic overtones will not be seen tonight and will start next week. Mainly because the debut was upstaged by the mass murder in Orlando and they want better ratings for their 3rd season premiere (it just sounds better for them to say: "in light of the situation in Orlando we are pushing back our premiere").

I have no love for the "Gay" community as a whole but I don't hate anybody because of their sexual preferences. Killing these people really was a horrible thing and a waste of life, the killers as much as his victims. My condolences for all involved.

So the tv series "Nashville" got picked up by CMT for a full 22 episode season after it was axed by ABC. Yeah! It is still co-produced by ABC Studios????? Booo! The tv world is a confusing place. CMT is owned by Viacom, one of the largest, if not thee largest, telecommunications companies on the planet. It owns a number of television stations: Comedy Central, BET, MTV, Spike, Nickolodeon and TV Land (not all of them but that is the majority). It has nothing to do with ABC so why is ABC studios still co-producing? don't know, maybe it is a typo. Lionsgate is the main production company or rather Lionsgate Television (they also have a film division among others) and are based in Canada as well as the US. Apparently Hulu will continue to broadcast Nashville as well. Wishing them all luck and I hope to be around to see what they look like without ABC stepping in and runing yet another show in order to cancel it. There are very few ABC success stories for a reason and its' natural spot has always been at the bottom of the heap.

In all fairness I do still watch one show from ABC: Pretty Little Liars. The show has basically outlived itself and I just watch it because I was such a fan of the earlier seasons and because the actresses are hotties. They just started their 7th season and I am all in, questionable writing and plotlines included. The scuttlebut is this is their last season but they have been saying that for the last two seasons and now there are rumors of an 8th so I will just stick with it and see. Shout out to cuties; Troian Bellisario, Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell and Janel Parrish. They are some of my favorite eyecandy.

gallery for justice (in aforementioned order two photos each...they deserve more):

I used to be a big fan of Sasha Pieterse who is also on the show but if an actress can't control her weight even when she is making obscene money to look hot as well as act it takes a lot of umph out her appearance in more ways than one. Before and after pictures:

So I caught the first episode of Showtimes new series Roadies and it was pretty good so I guess I will give the first season a try. It stars Luke Wilson who is always good at whatever he is in. The first episode had a guest appearance by one of the funniest men alive, Ron "Tater Salad" White and according to IMDB he well be in a few future episodes. Also worth mentioning is Imogen Poots who is in a starring role. If anyone gets a chance, turn it on and see what you think.

Grabbed the first season of BBC's The Living and the Dead (6 episodes) off KAT and liked the first two shows. It has a spooky, eerie vibe that given the setting- Somerset farmhouse in the 1890s- is ripe for development.
