I can't speak for western studios, but no way does a Japanese AV agency make their pay public. I'm calling shenanigans on the two links Blade Runner posted. Top actresses of course make big money, but unless they actually release their own tax forms (or the agency does it and/or gets hacked/robbed), the amount they make is clandestine.
I have no idea about the methods used to obtain those figures yet Maria Takagai ranks Top Ten in almost every list. Maria Ozawa appears in Top 30 and occasionally in Top 20 lists. Perhaps Edward Snowden is focusing on JAV.
IMO the interesting clue is US porn stars get paid when they own production companies and distribute product. One would think that a high-profile JAV actress would take that next step.

yes Maria Ozawa still can get a lot of job outside from JAV, still a lot of b class movies willing to get her service, but somehow I think she will comeback someday when she already feel difficult to get money

yeah it happens, she could probably sue and get her job back but there have been cases like that everywhere
Some do the occasional show at a strip theater. I went and saw Maria Ozawa at one earlier this year, after the show you can get a polaroid photo of/with her for 1,000 yen apiece. I bought two, and enjoyed chatting with her for a few minutes. Ai Uehara also did a show at a strip theater, but wasn't retired yet so I don't know what she'll do now.
Maria Ozawa is in the Philippines mostly, and has a semi-regular tv gig while doing performances. Sora Aoi, is focused on many things being an actress, singer, stage performer and all kinds of stuff in Japan,China, and Korea.
