It's pretty incredible that she became the best ever while having a massive bush.
She can always go paipan if her spot at #1 ever became threatened. So far she has no competition, even after taking several months off.. amazing

A highly subjective question, that can't be answered factually without taking personal criteria/preference into account.
That being said, and taking into consideration the quality/quantity of their body of work, popularity and impact both inside and outside the industry, is hard to argue that Sora Aoi, Yuma Asami or Anri Okita are not the ones deserving of the crown.
Sora Aoi is without a question the undisputed star in the industry's history for me. I'm somewhat fond of Akiho Yoshizawa, and her fame/popularity are out of the question, but her movies are very hit or miss.

I think the answer is probably among those three names. My personal pick would probably be Sakura Kokomi (face/body/skills, she's perfection) but I have to let my personal preferences aside lol. Sora Aoi, Yuma Asami and Anri Okita are still very popular, years after their retirement (Anri's is more recent though).
Yuuna is cute of course, but I do not find her noteworthy in any category.
She has a similar frame as Tsubomi but Tsubomi has much better hip control, BJ technique, etc. and a greater library of titles.
Even someone closer to her age like Yuzu Kitagawa has better hip control and much better BJ tech.
Does anyone factor in what the actress is/was willing to do throughout her career? Does variety matter?

Some of the comments above got me thinking about whose name was missing that (I thought) would be deserving of the top spot and one name came to me that might be justified… or it might be just me, since nobody mentioned her, not even the article.

She was something else… and after I went back to some of her videos I can confidently say that she still is something else. She was a massive hit with me back in the days and I got the impression that that was the case with a lot of people, but people don't seem to talk about her anymore. But like M1N0RA said, it's a pretty subjective topic.

Riko's career was too short and her name doesn't pop up in R18/Fanza popular actress rankings. Sora Aoi's career was short too, however, she remains popular (social media help I guess).

Interesting perspective. Valuing quantity of titles and technique over intangibles and superior beauty. If there was an experiment where I was blindfolded, and got to have sex with yuuna and tsubomi/yuzu (and was not told which I was having sex with) maybe I would choose tsubomi/yuzu also!
... but that's not what AV is about. It's about the visual and fantasy, not the reality of fucking them... at least for those that aren't living in japan that can actually be with them through delivery health lol. I'd probably champion a lesser actress if I was able to actually sleep with them. It would make watching their AV titles more fun, and elevate things to yuuna levels.
Well the point is talking about the best AV star, not who we think is the cutest or want to have sex with. Saying Yuuna has superior beauty is subjective of course. Personally I think Tsubomi and especially Yuzu Kitagawa are more attractive. If we take away our opinions, that leaves catalogue, longevity, diversity of content, and technique. Like I said, the other ladies, especially Tsubomi, are easily better.
You're talking about who is the best AV star for mainstream appeal. Of course yuuna isnt the most popular, by her nature its impossible for her to be. Her attributes would need to be deluded to appeal to a wider range. We have a difference of opinion if you think popularity means best. Is the masked singer the best tv show?
there's 7,7,7,7,7 actresses (tsubomi, sora, shuri, and big tit women) that have mass appeal because of this safe balance. Then there's special actresses like yunna that are 10,6,10,4,10 actresses who are better overall but don't have the correct balance to appeal to the largest number of people. for example, yuuna's 6 and 4 scores could be a deal breaker for most AV fans, and not matter to someone like me. I would actually argue that most of your qualifications are negatives. if we're only talking about who is the most famous, then go look at sales numbers and if you're a fan of one of the actresses on those lists, then go ahead and bask in the glory of being one of many fans of them. What i'm talking about is who is actually the best (greatest). Maybe it isnt Yuuna for everyone, but the one thing im sure of is that the most successful actresses aren't the best that have come along.
