I think people forget about Yumi because she's never been a major contract girl, she's been pretty much indy her whole career. so she gets passed over all the time? that's the only reason, i could think of.

yes I think so too, and now she only appear in MILF genre, and its not very popular, most of the viewers prefer young girls

The question I'd like to know is who did the most movies, but only count titles that only featured her or titles that she shared the starring role with no more than a couple other women. Simply searching on DMM, etc will also include tons of compilation (XX BEST) titles which probably number as much if not more than actual new footage movies if you're searching for actresses who've had especially long careers.

However, if 'idol' can extend to actors, then she's sorely beaten by super veterans like Joe Oshima who got started at the beginning of the 90's and still works regularly.

Jugulear highlighted several Maki Hojo low-res movies shot on handheld camera that are posted on an obscure website. Her appearances were cameos. I doubt those movies are listed in her filmography.

I mean there's only like 75 guys in the industry, kinda hard to fuck over 100!, but yeah unfair to really count guys vs girls since the talent pool is so small, if there was only 75 women then they'd have a much larger output

She's an absolute beauty but sadly not to my liking in terms of performance.

Actually, there are hundreds of male actors, many that come and go. (Or is that cum and go?) There are some wonderful articles in the News section that I'm too lazy to dig up to provide links for, that have gotten into some ins and outs of the male actors... All RIGHT, I broke down and went about lookin'... "ARTICLE THREE" from this link sheds some revealing light, and check out the links I had provided at article's end.

The classic "There are only 70 actors" line only applies to the hardcore insiders' group. So of course it is very possible for JAV actresses to have gotten it on with a hundred or more men.

Hoo-boy, ain't that a fact. But compilation movies don't count. So we can't count ones that don't count. (But it's okay; nobody here is going to be a scientific bean counter, we're just going by rough ideas.)

Not the most videos but something that caught my eye lately is how active Hana Haruna has been, it wouldn't surprise me if she's the most prolific JAV star right now.
She used to do a couple videos a month according to DMM, but since October she's been doing like 20 a month or in that range, which seems crazy to me. They're all new releases too, not compilations.
It makes you wonder how she finds the time to do that many movies and isn't she sore from performing at such a high pace?
Another thing that's curious is that she's working for many different makers/labels so she doesn't stick to just one or two like some of the more popular actresses do.
So many questions as to the whys.

As for the topic, it has to be one of those actresses that started out as a teen but are still performing today as a mature lady.

Rico tachibana once won an award for filming the most genre and movies in one year including early uncensored works. Yui hatano definitely the most hard working each month like ai uehara, but less daring while keeping a decent varieties of genre and styles. Akiho should have more since like yuria satomi she's on her 15th year, but she's limited to only two studios.
