Why are there so few HD titles recently???

I'm a big fan of HD movies, and I really can't stand watching those SD ones. However, recently I notice there are fewer and fewer HD titles to download. I often go to Nyaatorrent and JAVbus for torrent links, but recently all the new titles there have no HD version. At first I thought it was because the studio doesn't release HD version, but then I was quite not sure because there are lots of title (even those from big studio like S1, SOD or Idea Pocket) don't get the HD version available.
So I'm here asking what is the reason behind this, and, is there any other way for me to find these titles in HD?

Most of the HD JAV are posts by Yipman. But Yipman has been disappeared for awhile now. Not sure what happened to him (probably busy with life).
So now, JAV world will have to live with SD quality videos for now.

Where are most JAV movies watched today: on a large screen TV, laptop monitor, or small screen handheld device? If there's been a change in emphasis, maybe that has influenced it.

Related idea: most people expect maybe a decade-long downturn in the global economy. I wonder historically how porn as an industry performs during hard times? (too many puns to avoid them all) Certainly it would not be a time to invest in new equipment, or expect your customers to.

first because the biggest contributor for HD JAV is bussy

second, the prize of HD videos is more expensive, and took more time to process, so most uploader prefer SD or HQ quality

if you really can't stand watching SD, try to buy HD videos ;)

i've gotten tons of 1080p gokkun vids over the past 3 or 4 months. new gokkun vids come out in HD within a month. i don't DL alot of other types of jav but lots of HD gokkun out there.

Ok so it seem like the mean reason is our biggest HD uploader has gone right :( If that's the case, probably I have to live with it, since I'm just a free downloader and cant ask for anything more :) And I live in Vietnam, so buying some HD ones seem not possible at all :))) Still hope our Yipman come back soon, though :(

sure! here on AO, although as has been said here it's running a little thin here as of late, .jav library has some good hd stuff, jav bus has a HD tag on it's posts, i just get an empornium invite thanks to a member and friend in this forum (thanks for that invite by the way dude! it was solid.) they have lots of HD jav gokkun there, like a fuck ton. http://jav-bukkake.net/ is a new site i just found out about a few weeks ago. and http://japanese-bukkake.net/ is a old fav of mine been going there for 6 or 7 years, they have hd stuff there sometimes.

i only really watch gokkun JAV so the sites i go to have mostly that. hope that helps.

*edit* oh and http://www.bukkakeglobal.com/japanese-bukkake.html is a good site. now you all know some of my secrets when it comes to DL's. happy hunting!

(1) I don't have a good answer, but the more meaningful question isn't most WATCHED, but most paid for. The studio have to get paid in order to film and distribute AV right? A trend I notice in general is the slow disappearance of HOME PC and even laptops. Phones and tablets are getting a lot of the jobs done and at home, TV's on their own or TV set-top boxes are getting so smart to blur the line between cable boxes and PC. But that doesn't even matter that much. High Def (even 4K) tablet is getting common and 4K smartphones. And both big screen TV and PC are commonly supporting 4K resolution. So it all doesn't impact the HD vs. SD question. I suspect the surprising staying power of SD in AV is due to the staying power of DVD.

Or perhaps... most guys just don't really need HD for whack off. I prefers HD but SD does the job well enough.

(2) Historically (mildly) bad economy is good for home entertainment. Because people or family who's hurting in the pocket books may use their limited budget on a big screen TV or high tech game console which last for 5-10 years and satisfy them instead of yearly vacations or weekly dinning out. Or every 3 months they can afford a new game (US$60?) which is good for several family members and even friends for maybe 100 hours, but that $60 maybe not even cover one evening of dinning and entertainment out side of home.

For AV, I imagine bad econ will really hurt dating and getting married (and even having kids) and of course it's very bad for hosting, delivery health, or plain prostituting. So you have a lot of guys with time on their hand, a little bit of money, not enough for REAL fun (involving women) so they may spend it on renting or buying AV. Of course if the econ get so so bad they can't even afford 1 or 2 rentals a week (let's say a typical wanker needs a relief every day but consumes only one scene to do the job so each DVD is good for 3-4 nights, that means 2 DVD rentals a week). Of course a good customer rents 7 vids a week.

I've never watched more than 5 minutes of any movie on phone or tablet. Maybe my eyesight is too poor to enjoy that small an image. I'd also prefer the image I'm watching to be steady, not bouncing off my rock abs or tilting off my olympian pecs as I try to manhandle this giant meat stick [/self-delusion].

How large does the screen need to be before there is meaningful visible difference between SD and HD? Screen ratio would seem to mean less in porn where the focus is on what's happening in the center half of the screen, and doesn't SD show larger than HD on any screen with less than 16x9 screen ratio?

Maybe I've just never watched a porno that made inspired use of the HD format. I'm not arguing these points; just asking.

And I can see you guy here are taking this topic kinda serious, with all those economy things. Sadly, somehow my poor English seem no longer enough for me to follow this discussion :( However, thank you guys for all those information :)
 
I think there are diminishing returns with HD or better for porn. How much do you really want to see? Every pore? Every wrinkle?

Yipman's MKVs aren't really true HD quality anyways. They are higher quality than the usual watermarked stuff, but mostly I like them just because they don't have watermarks. I find that I can convert them to 480p without obvious reduction in quality. The 6000kbps WMV files are another story though.

for me 480 - 720 is enough ;)

People always underestimate what they are missing before trying the above mentioned on a 50 inch TV.

dvd's maximum resolution are 480 (720x480) right ?

except if you want to see every pore ? every wrinkle ? like pikuseru has mentioned, so I don't complain for 480 videos ;)

1080p is pretty harsh on older performers. But 720p or 1080p, indeed 60 fps is pretty amazing, even on a 23 inch PC monitor. One word: hair. And also.... nipples in HD are quite a different experience.
