unfortunately that's true. If i was them I wound at least add a bunch on promotional clips and trailers for up coming releasing, popular series and other related videos that JAV idols or idols that in the movie, started in that the studio produce. I know thet already do this to some extend, but in recent years they seem to cut back on it. i guess that just a side effect of the internet an streaming.
Another reason why you don't see too many behind the scenes is simply b/c most staff members probably do not want to be filmed--even with mosaic covering them. Also those 2 hour titles generally take a whole day to film already (most JAV is filmed over one day) so people already just wanna go home after the final scene's done.

Have you ever seen any honest insightful interview BTS on Western porn, on Hollywood big movies etc? Wake up, BTS isn't investigative journalism, it's cheap little extra production (under a minute per interviewee typical) to increase profit, somehow. ("Han Solo is such an iconic character, I'm so blessed to play him blah blah (hey I am so charming I can make fart noise with my mouth for 5 minutes you will still be watching this shit)") Most of Private (the biggest Europorn producer) BTS are junk interview ("I take the most beautiful girls in the world and the best studs and go the best beach in the world and waited 2 days for the perfect sun blah blah"). Couple times I saw director (dirty old man) demonstrating to the busty blonde how to suck cock. That's pretty funny. Sometimes you see director and performers discuss the sexual positions and camera angle. Helps you appreciate it's not just tell some guys and girls to go ahead have sex and turn on the camera. It can be as serious and deliberate as making action films.
One of the best BTS are seen in Jackie Chan's and other HK action films showing the outtakes, especially the failed stunts and injury. It's basically free to produce and both increase your respect for the filmmakers and warn kids not to try it at home.
Another great BTS example is Tanya Hyde's S&M porn. It's amazing to see artists working on S&M garments and even manufacturing special purpose (SEX) furniture on the set. Most of the time you see how on screen persona is totally different than real life (esp. r*** vids), it's called acting boys and girls; but sometimes, Tanya Hyde's porn mostly, you see that in real life, those people are exactly the same as you see on screen: freaks and subs and doms.

I think that an interview for a BTS could work if you just stick to stuff related to the movie that they are shooting. So focus on that things that happened that day. Such as the examples I gave before. Instead of trying to dig into the girls past and personal life.

"Behind the scenes" features might be a little redundant or awkward for JAV because a lot of times JAV already pretends to be "behind the scenes" footage. Usually a JAV even have an "interview" with the actress or some other "dressing room" scene.
