Why is the suicide rates for male porn actors so shockingly high?

Saw on internetarchive the website of Shelly Lubben and it had a page dedicating a memorial to dead porn stars and there are a lot of males. Still far less than females but the numbers surprised me and there are a few testimonies listed of how almost all died by suicide. Some even went on a crime spree in the style of robberies resembling wishing suicide by being killed by someone else and even mass shooting (with one incident involving a guy coming to an office and cutting people apart with a katana before getting shot by cops).

I'm quite curious why? Its so common to see comments across the internet esp in places like XVideos, XHamster, and Pornhub things like "he (the porn actor) is the luckiest guy in the world!" and "If I was the porn star, I'd ram that girl as hard as I can!" and other such comment. You don't have to look hard even outside of non-porn stuff and in SFW chat of guys wishing to have sex with the hottest girls alive for a living since they think its the greatest job in the world!

So why I ask? Guys online (and I'm guilty of it too under older other online usernames across different sites) thinks it so awesome and ramble on and on about how its the greatest career to have so its so surprising to see an un expectedly high number of suicides!

I suspect as you said, many porn actors wanted to just have sex with hot girls,
but then realize the pay is super low and the sex is just calculated positioning for
the best angles and etc.

I seen some behind-the-scenes of western porn and surprisingly with all the crew, lights, 'stops' 'repositioning' etc, it looks unappealing.

And getting off near the end is sometimes done by a fluffer, drugs, masturbation, stand-in,
or other male actors.

Oh the suicide rate is probably due to the mental illness of the guys, just like the ladies,
that was always there.
No psych evaluations are given to porn stars, so you don't know what you're getting from these men and women.

Suicide rates just tend to be higher among men in general. And people may enter porn industry with a bag of personal issues that makes them more vulnerable later…

I think it must hit you hard if you never manage to approve what you're doing for a living, and it must be hard to handle being casted out of society like this... Not a good career move unless the goal is to make quick money and use that for something
else. Only a few pornstar has that idea.

I think many are in western, europe countries and JAV actress do streams. But I think the difference is maybe JAV actresses are seen in such a bad light and can do other things if they become an idol or something.

In addition to all the psychological traits and social factors that bring people into porn in the first place, as well as what working in the porn industry does to your psyche, I think it makes sense that experiencing pleasure makes people confront existence in a way that merely experiencing desire doesn't. Having desires is the natural condition of life whereas being content isn't. Your brain adapts to pleasure and returns to the old baseline mood level that was determined by your genetics and childhood environment.

Even if being in porn doesn't come with all the crap that we know it does (abuse, shady people, degradation, etc), most of the time when people get the thing they think they want, they're disappointed. And it's hard for porn stars to move onto other things because no society is actually liberal enough to treat porn stars and sex workers 100% like normal people. There's always going to be a stigma hanging around which is going to close doors for you in life.
