we would like to ask you to disable adblock on akiba.
we only have 2 ads on the threads. Without the money from sponsors and / or ads we are not able to continue providing akiba as the service you know.

if you want i can write some technical "behind-the-scenes" of akiba :)

I'm surprised the filehoster's are supporting a model like this as why would anyone pay for a normal subscription directly to the filehoster anymore when they can have many for a similar price. With this model they would surely only get a small percentage ?
I will sign up for a month and give it a trial

It's a good idea to have sponsors, I would not mind other kinds too if it can assure board's survival. There are 845,609 registered members (don't know how much of them are active or still visiting), but that is certainly enough to ask small amounts to people who are generous or can afford. It should be done through "gift cards", prepaid credit cards and emoney like Bitcoin.

Just wonder how reliable those provided figures are

I don't think the total percentage of their revenue is all that small, collectively I'm sure they take at least 90% of the profits, after all Zevera doesn't contribute anything of it's own, it just pools the resources of others.
Presumably the distribution of these 90% depends on what the usage percentage for each host is.

To be perfectly clear, this is just my guesses and musings.
But I don't see why the filehosts would fork over any significant part of the revenues to a pooling service when they're doing all the work and footing all the static costs.

What's left for filehosts to earn?
This offer seems enticing to the people who wouldn't usually sign up for any filehosts at all. I have a rapidgator account that I'm going to cancel in a few days because I only download from one member, but now I have the opportunity to use rapidgator with this service. I think the filehosts would rather get a little "piece of the pie" rather than nothing at all. I think their counting on a majority of us who don't use filehosts to sign up through this to get more market share. The more people who sign up for this is the more money they make even though they might be making less per person.

Edit: After re-reading tail's experience a few comments up, I think I'll wait and see how other users like it as well.

As long as there are no bandwidth limits I could see myself eventually signing up. I doubt uploaders are going to change their main choices of filehosts, so I'm interested how the service will work with the "big names" in the long run.

If it really works its great, i used a "similar" service before and it was a pain to copy & paste links and then start the download, but this sounds perfect if it supports jdownloader and you can copy / paste more then one link at a time.
Almost to good to be true, and its not even illegal, they have official support from the filehosters.

So i guess the only downside is you wont have any "upload" space right? Well for Leechers it wont matter, i think its a great thing! Im going to signup today.
Just for some reason when I register, i put in my mail and password and nothing happens, no confirmation if registering worked or something. No error to, not sure whats that about.
Going to wait for some confirmation mail maybe. But still, sound great!

A lot Of Posters Will Stop Posting Here, If Debrid Will Work Here.

There are so many posters a few less might be a good thing.

Seriously though, do the posters get less somehow? This would seem to increase their hits on their posts, with less hits from free users. Do posters get more money when premium users download? I never heard of any deal that was worded that way.

As far as AdBlock goes, I use that as well. I know it is not popular with the CooL-one but all I can say is that there are a lot more visitors here than members, always has been. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to solicit for more ads for this site and some Japanese ads would be a very good idea. Of course I am sure running ads at a filesharing site has its' own challenges. Take a page from Torrentfreak and run some VPN ads, those will get some clicks.

I just disabled Ad-block on Akiba to support it, and now i get "Virtual SEX & 3D FUCK with your REAL partners" ad with a gif of a moving cock... now i remember again why i activated Ad-block on Akiba.
The idea with the VPN sounds great, tokyotosho has that to, and they are a 100% torrent site.
Well it depends if the sponsor has interest in the first place.

*EDIT* By the way, registration still not working for me, i tryed now even a different browser, i fill in the e-mail, password, TOS, click register and nothing happens, site refreshes but no error or confirmation or something, anyone else has the same problem?

Such Services buy a few premium.Accounts and then share them via their system.
it's like some gigantic downloader on their servers which. They will first load them to their system and then get you their local File-URLs.
What the filehosters get: nothing expect one or two Prem. Accounts.
That's why the hosters normally don't like them and try to block them.
(So often some hosters are offline - or they hit a traffic-limit really fast)

Seriously though, do the posters get less somehow? This would seem to increase their hits on their posts, with less hits from free users. Do posters get more money when premium users download? I never heard of any deal that was worded that way.
depends on the hoster.
there are some that will count 1 Download for each ip within 24hours for free-users
and up to x with prem. acc.

If you can get some partner that will place ads - feel free to contact chompy.
i'm not that happy with the ads here - and since you are faced a tough competition, we don't always have our ad-places sold.
the last one where fc2.com - which was a nice ad.

Sponsors != ads.
There are some problems
1) we are an adult forum - so we can only get non-adult ads when s.o. with non-adult-ads buys the places
2) what you are now seeing are filler-ads, that are cheap and can show nearly anything. We don't know what will be shown.
3) Akiba is atm at a size that we have a decent amount of views and clicks on the ads, but we are too small to attrackt the good advertises
4) please suggest alternatives. Akiba costs a lot of money to run. And taking donations isn't really working, since nearly all providers don't allow adult-content for donations. (as for paypal... i have lost lot's of money due to their strict policy and staff)

as for general:
i don't have a problem when you try to discuss our new sponsor,
but please keep in mind, that we need them in order to be able to pay our bills :)

as i already have said:
if there is some interest, i can write some behind-the-scenes posts.
which propably would be a bit technical :/
but since akiba servers over 4k users (at the same time) without the site loading significantly slower i think it could be interessting (of course some numbers will be added)

*EDIT* By the way, registration still not working for me, i tryed now even a different browser, i fill in the e-mail, password, TOS, click register and nothing happens, site refreshes but no error or confirmation or something, anyone else has the same problem?
just registered an account.
Check that you have added a birth-date (looks like that's required)
left blank all the places to be left blank
added pw and the right captcha?
And most of that: insert a valid email? though there isn't an email validation the system will check if the domain exists.
Sometimes - if you are using a spam mail and / or proxy/vpn/tor your username will be listed for manual moderation - i'm not sure if you receive information about this.
Next time: Please create a thread (or reuse an old one) in "Site Support & Bugs" to keep thetopics separated.

First contact the helpdesk
http://www.zevera.com/aboutus
Tell them about your problem
Wait a few hours.
And if, and only if you don't get a reply then go whine on an online forum

Why does always everybody assume every company is evil?
It actually tells me more about you and how you see the world around you

I guess it's the same like the 9/11 conspiracy theories. The truth is in most cases maybe quite simply, but more ugly (in case of 9/11 it is pure incompetence of the U.S. government, their agencies and their military).
I guess that also can count for Zevera. Maybe the simply haven't realized yet that they got the money (maybe due to some internal technical or organizational problems). Maybe they don't have enough man power to check all the payments (maybe they do it manually).

Decided to give this a try as my subyshare account had just expired (and for some reason Subyshare refused to let me extend my premium account). So far I have been quite disappointed. I don't blame Chompy and the gang as they just suggested it, not enforced it, but as far as I can determine (and please let me know if I am wrong):
1. Zevera seems to be incompatible with Jdownloader2.
2. When I use the Zevera download tool, about half of my downloads fail.
3. Although they advertise to handle subyshare, ryushare, and some others, when I tried to download, the files were not found, even though Jdownloader said the files were there (on the file server, not on Zevera).
4. The download speed was actually slower than free download on most files that I tried.

Are these just my problems or are others having the same issues.

I just signed up this morning. I'm having the same exact experience as you on every point you mentioned. I'll try different gateways with my VPN when I have more time and see if that helps at all. I'll post in the filehost discussion forum once I try it.

I tried downloading again today and it seems to be going just a little smoother. The Zevera links I copied into Jdownloader actually showed up. Only half the links showed up for download yesterday and the rest came back as "offline". Now I'm getting connection errors partway through the download and have to manually start them again. Slowly progressing.
