JavLuv JAV Browser

Is the file info format generated by JavLuv compatible with StashApp?
Their JAV scrapers are terrible, and I'm looking for a way to efficiently manage the metadata.

Thats a easy fix. Put each set of movies in a folder on the HDDs

Like
HDD001-Jav
HDD002-Jav

then add them to JavLuv and then Type or copy into search bar either of the above or whatever you have called the folder

Its handy as I have an UNWATCHED folder, NEW folder, DELETE folder and so on and if you have the same on each drive then typing in say UNWATCHED then all drives will show but if you add the extension 001 (or whatever) to each folder then that will single out that drive.

You can sub search also this way which is like a game changer for me with a large collection and Im not even sure if its a feature but it works.

Lets say I wanted to find all TEACHER related content in a folder.

I would search in Javluv: HDD001-Jav (Again depends on your folder name) and Teacher

So examples:

HDD001-Jav TEACHER
HDD001-Jav SCHOOL
HDD001-Jav (Actress Name)

You can become a search king and say do a search like this:

HDD001-Jav TEACHER SCHOOL Akari Asagiri Attackers

So Subject - Subject - Actress - Studio

You can do many more combos ofc

Ive never heard of StashApp but JavLuv uses the same format as Kodi if that helps or narrows it down. Obviously TmpGuy will know better than me,
 
Hi since I was a day 1 user I wanted to suggest some minor things if possible.

add backspace for navigation - arrow keys for left right, maybe hotkeys for giving ratings or writing notes. Just a hotkey that jumps to the text box

add easier navigation for tags, studio etc.
Like when you click on an acctresses name it will show you all her movies. Maybe its possible to do the same for studio/series/tags etc.

sort by lenght of movie - longest/shortest

When i double click on a actress image i get all her movies when the metadata is updated. i still have many where i dont have all data exspecially genres for fetich movies what dont have a home on javlibrary

thats is so great, i need to check this. do you know if this works when i have the folders already just to change the name ?will the folder name change be updated in javluv also ?

If you change the name then just rescan the folder with Javluv and everything will be linked again and you lose nothing. You can change them to any name you like but just rescan and you will be good. By rescan I mean [SCAN MOVIE] not regenerate metadata ofc.

No it is not. You may be able to find an extension or plugin for stashapp that will import the jellyfin format. I believe I saw something like that, but just haven't felt the need to play around with it yet.

Have you tried using Javstash? It's anything but terrible, and the community and developers are very active. You can request missing movies/entire series of codes on their Discord, as long as they exist on R18.dev/FANZA. They hit 200k scenes just this week:

For comparison, StashDB has 850k scenes, out of which only 16k are JAV.

No you are not understanding.

So one scenario.

You have 2 HDDs with Jav on and they are just on the Root drive or in no folders on each drive. You have scanned them all with JavLuv already and so each has a cover and a .nfo file.


Here's what you do.

Put All the files from one drive into a folder on that drive and it doesn't matter what you call it but I gave the examples [HDD001-Jav] but it can be anything. If you have several folders and already organised then put all those folders into one folder.

HDD001-Jav [Main folder on root of drive]
Favourites [Sub Folder with Jav Movies in]
Downloads [Sub Folder]
WatchList [Sub Folder]


So how JavLuv scans is that if two folders on 2 drives are called that same name then it will combine the search results for those two drives or many drives.

So if you have 2 drives. One with all the Jav in a folder called HDD001-Jav (sub folders also) and all the Jav on the second drive in a folder called HDD001-Jav and I do a search in JavLuv for HDD001-Jav than all files on both drives will be shown but If I call one drive HDD002-Jav then those drives become searchable at the drive level in JavLuv by searching for HDD001-Jav or HDD002-Jav which can be extremely handy if you organise or keep your drives separate for any reason and want a way to search them separate.


So Lets say you keep them the same on each drive [Can use as many drives as you like]

So 2 drives with a folder called: HDD001-Jav and all Jav inside and scanned with JavLuv

Inside Javluv [App] in the search, search: HDD001-Jav

What that does is tells JavLuv only to search in that folder [Its less useful if you only have 1 folder as Javluv can do all this without folders] but ill give examples of where its useful.

So you have 3 folders on a drive. 2 are organised say Favourites, Backups and then DOWNLOADS and you have 100 files in downloads and are unwatched. So you go back into JavLuv and type: Downloads into the search and all it will show are files in the DOWNLOADS folder.

So another scenario. You are searching DOWNLOADS for a movie with the theme of Teacher [Taken from the metadata of what Javluv scrapes from the internet] and it has the Actress: Akari Asagiri in it and you know that the studio that made it is Attackers.

How you would do this is go into JavLuv and in the Search area type: DOWNLOADS Teacher Akari Asagiri Attackers

What this does is tells JavLuv to only search in folder [Downloads] with Tags [Teacher] [Akari Asagiri] [Attackers]

When searching don't use [ ] , ( ) just like this: Downloads Teacher Akari Asagiri Attackers

Folder Subject Actress Studio. You can combine actresses, subjects like this: Downloads Teacher School Drama Rina Fujimoto Akari Asagiri Attackers

Tags are what are defined in the options in JavLuv or on most sites to let you know what and who is in the movies or what its about, you can add your own.

Examples: Various Professions, Drama, Embarrassment, Featured Actress, Female Investigator, Hi-Def

If you change the structure of the folders on your drives then just Scan them all with Javluv and do that by the [SCAN MOVIES] and NOT the right click and Rescan or Regenerate.


Obviously if JavLuv doesn't know the Actress or the Studio then it cannot tell you, it has to have scraped the data already and you have to use your imagination a little on how this can be used but its a very handy feature

A tip though. Dont use any spaces in your folder names and always join with a - or something example [Downloads-2025]

Good stuff! How do you get an invite code? Through discord?
 
@TmpGuy, would you consider adding a view count to movies in JavLuv? Just a counter that increments whenever a movie is started from within JavLuv. Perhaps this could be added as a sorting criterium, but I would be happy to have it alongside the option to "show ID" or "User rating" in the overview screen and then having it on the right in the movie detail view (below resolution for instance).

I will be really nice to have this. I have dozen of movies which I haven't watch but got a bit difficulty when browsing through them. Or just an indicator whether the movie is watched/unwatch would also be nice. Sometimes I just skip through the movie to preview it first.
