I cannot help you with VR players as i dont use smartphone VR. I do know that most of the players on Android have been discontinued (DeoVR, Skybox, Pigasus..). Maybe the players from the big japanese distributers are working for you (r18, afesta) but i am not sure if they can play local videos...
