I would not recommend to buy a Pico 4 Headset. One reason would be that the display has a refresh rate of 72hz/90hz. Why is that important? Videos are filmed in 60fps, so you need a display that either match that (60hz) or a multiply of that (120hz, 180hz...) to avoid stuttering. Quest 2 does support 60hz and 120hz.@Walle12 I see, thanks for the response. I guess the Pico 4 VR will still be a good buy for me then. It's available in-stock where I live for about $399 (128GB model). By the way, I'm a bit weirded out how there's no discussion of any good adult VR games - Honey Select 2, AI Shoujo etc. Now that more realistic models are possible because of Unreal Engine 5/Metahuman I think we should now be seeing the next generation of these adult games. Do you know of any forums/threads that discuss games like these?
If it cannot be mentioned here, please PM me the links. Thanks again for keeping this VR discussion alive - I really believe VR is the future for these stuff.![]()
Another reason would be that there is a version of Heresphere for the Quest2 itself. There wont be a standalone version for Pico4 for quite some time.
At this point (if you want a standalone device) Quest 2 would be the best choice. Although if you are not in a rush, i would highly recommend to wait another 6 months. Thats when Meta most likely will announce the Quest 3. It is using pancake lenses (like the Pico 4) while it most likely will support 120hz as well. It will be more expensive though. If 400$ is your limit you can get the Quest 2 as well. Still a great headset, although 2,5 years old already.
As for games, i think its far from being realistic yet unfortunately. And you would definitely need a powerful gaming PC. I tried the metahuman demo a while ago and the load on my PC was a lot.
If you interested in games (although not JAV focused) i would recommend to join this subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/adultvrgames/
