Ok, I get it, I think. Her body and enthusiasm are top notch. But that face!!

Is this a matter of her other assets making up for her weaknesses or do people think her face is attractive too?

If that face was on a below average body, she wouldn't be anyone's favorite, right? Is that face the face of a wanton wench which explains her popularity?

Please set me straight on this one, because I simply don't get it.

Lucy Liu, while I'm sure she's a really awesome person -- no idea actually -- has a less than ideal facial balance or shall I say it's distinctive, but not in a really good way. Gong Li, on the other hand, stands out in a good way, a really good way! She is gorgeous!!

Like Lucy Liu, who a lot of people seem to find attractive, Shinoda stands out to me in a really bad way, her facial balance is just plain awful. Her individual features aren't the problem as much as their placement on her face. I'm sure some photoshop wizard could move them a bit and improve her looks tremendously.

Anyway, this has bugged me for a long time and just wanted to get it off my chest.

But can you more or less explain what it is about it that makes you fond of it? I really try to "enjoy" her, because she definitely knows how to work her sexuality, but I can't, umm, get hard when I look at her face, to be frank.
Do you find that you like the faces of women that are like that in "real" life, or just a fantasy woman thing? There are other women with distinctive unique looks in JAV, do some of the other gals you like have similarly, unorthodox
faces? I'm just trying to understand something I don't understand, better.

Ichika Kamihata

Has a distinctive look, and her face is long, with the distance between her eyes and mouth being a bit longer than ideal, and her nose long as well.
Of course she had a nose job to give it a ridge, but she is certainly by most standards of beauty more appealing than Shinoda. A fan may still prefer
the look of Shinoda because they are a fan, but objectively, Kamihata is prettier than Shinoda, no? Kamihata is as enthusiastic and dirty as Shinoda,
just that her body is not as dynamite.

Basically, IMO, if Kamihata had Shinoda's body and vice versa... Well, I don't think very many people would think much of Shinoda in that case.

I don't mean offense to those that dig, Shinoda. Just trying to see what it is about that face that others find appealing.

This is why I'm asking! Because there are fans that think she is amazing, like yourself. And I think she is very much not, to the point of well, it's not right for me to say such nasty things about people. That is what I simply don't understand.

It's almost like republicans and democrats in the government not being able to see eye to eye on what seemingly should be an easy thing to agree on. Some of you rate her a 10 and I, at least, rate her low. Typically, people aren't THAT far
off when judging beauty. So what am I missing? That's the question. I'm not saying you all are wrong, just I'm trying to wrap my head around what I'M not seeing that you all do.

This is a false premise because it's comparing JAV to mainstream.

Lucy Liu is attractive yet chose to hide her freckles under makeup.

Li Gong is in the 1% category of women in the industry.

Everyone has their checklist and compromises.

I considered Ayumi attractive enough to be seen in public with her.

It probably would have more appropriate to compare Ayumi with other JAV actresses.

Ayumi Shinoda did bukkake, DJE-050, a Mature Shower title, so her face is obviously good enough for bukkake. I thought her face was ugly too but when I finally watched that video and I was like, "There is no way this girl is mature." So I searched and apparently she was only 29 when that video was released which makes more sense. She is really hot in that video. Her face looks a lot better on video than it does in still pictures for some reason. Somehow she looks both younger than 29 and older than 29 at the same time. She has sexy body but cute face and demeanor. I didn't expect much looking at the cover and screenshots, but seeing her in motion she is amazing.

I don't think it's a false premise. I'm comparing women attractive enough to be in American and Chinese films and Japanese adult films. There are women attractive enough in JAV to be mainstream models or actresses in Japan, if they could act instead of just fake moan.

Admittedly Gong Li is a cut WAY above the average, IMO, but that was to serve as a visual representation of what a high standard of attractiveness looks like and I was already using Lucy Liu as a distinctive face that isn't REALLY attractive in comparison to Shinoda. I could have easily found ugly as sin JAV chicks and very traditionally attractive JAV gals too, just thought that using Liu and Li would make the comparisons clear for people because they are already very familiar to everyone even if you are not a huge JAV fan that knows all the stars.

Regardless of the freckles, the point of mentioning her is that she has a distinctive face and jaw structure and is not ideal Chinese face, but some people seem to think she is hot, similar to how some people find Shinoda hot. She is very average in looks if she is not an actress. She is distinctive, but not beautiful. She is a star, because she is a star.

I used Kamihata Ichika after I posted the original comment pretty soon after to show her distinctive look vs Shinoda's. I think Kamihata looks much better in the face, distinctive while still attractive and very pretty and charming.

I'm getting the impression that some guys like the Shinoda look even though it's unorthodox. Perhaps because it looks so unlike other JAV stars that's an additional plus?

After all there is another star that looks like she could be her sister and nobody is making a big deal about her. If I can find her I'll post a picture. I can't recall if she has a great body like Shinoda, but I think it was at least busty. I'll look.

JULIA has the physical appearance to be a US/Western mainstream actress depending on her English-speaking skills. Her career arc could be similar to Shannon Tweed's movies (erotic thrillers with simulated sex scenes). I'm not familiar enough with Asian/Japanese cinema to determine a similar niche.

But to be on topic, I don't find Ayumi Shinoda's face attractive. She's not ugly, but certainly nothing special. I agree on Lucy Liu not being that beautiful, but I don't think that Gong Li and Kamihata Ichika are beautiful, either. Also, I've never even heard of Gong Li. Doesn't everyone in China agree that Fan Bing Bing is the very ideal of beauty, so if anyone, I expect people to use her as someone to compare others to.

And surely, so many people can't be wrong, right? Of course they can, because, again, she's definitely not ugly, but I don't find her that attractive, either. Many people won't find her attractive, either. And this is why I have to agree with Inertia. People like different things. What you see as ideal facial proportions won't appeal to someone else and vice versa. Why is that? I don't know. Most likely a combination of genetics(what you're "programmed" to like) and media influence.
